Hello there. Cloud Strife.

Former SOLDIER, mercenary, occasional world saver and apparently now someone who needs to write a whole profile explaining why you should punch him in the face.

Fine. Let’s get this over with.

I’m not really the type to give speeches before a fight. Tifa can handle that part. I’d rather let what happens in the ring speak for itself.

I’ve fought Shinra troops, monsters, Turks, SOLDIERs, people with personal grudges against me and enough weird things that I stopped asking questions a long time ago.

So whether you’re another mercenary looking to prove yourself, some Shinra experiment that escaped its cage, a Turk having a slow afternoon or just someone who looked at me and thought “yeah, I could take him”...

Go ahead and try.

Winning matters, obviously. I’m not going to stand here and pretend it doesn’t.

But I’m much more interested in a fight that actually feels like a fight.

Momentum changing. Mistakes being punished. Someone getting cocky and immediately regretting it. Both characters getting opportunities to show what they can do rather than one person treating the RP like their personal highlight reel.

That sort of thing.

And no, having a giant sword doesn’t mean I need it for everything.

Those are probably my main choices, but I’m pretty open when it comes to the actual rules.

Want a clean competitive match? Works for me.

Want something rougher where the environment becomes part of the fight? Also works.

Have some weird custom rules that somehow make perfect sense in your head?

This is probably the biggest thing for me.

I like fights with context.

Give us some history. Maybe Shinra arranged the fight. Maybe we’ve hated each other for months. Maybe there’s gil involved. Maybe someone ran their mouth one too many times.

Maybe Tifa, Barret, Aerith, Yuffie or the others are sitting ringside and I now have the unfortunate problem of knowing they’ll never let me forget this if I lose.

Crowds reacting differently to the face and heel? Absolutely.

Cameras broadcasting the fight around Midgar? Sure.

A camera waiting afterward so the winner can take a picture with the loser?

...

Yuffie suggested that one, didn’t she?

I also love having actual stakes involved. Gil, pride, bragging rights, embarrassing consequences, having to wear something stupid afterward, getting photographed after losing — whatever gives both characters a reason to desperately want that win.

In other words:

It doesn’t need seventeen paragraphs of lore either. Even something stupid can work.

Shinra cadet: “SOLDIER First Class is overrated.”
Fine. Gloves on.

Roche: “My friend! Our magnificent rivalry—”
Unfortunately believable.

Don Corneo organized a fighting tournament?
I already regret being there.

Scarlet wants another opportunity to prove Shinra superiority?

FF7 characters obviously fit Cloud naturally, and I’m always interested in seeing how different characters from that world would match up against him.

But crossovers are completely welcome.

Games, anime, movies, comics or whatever other piece of fiction you can somehow make work.

Sometimes two characters having absolutely no business meeting each other makes for the funniest setup.

You just need to give me something better than:

“Uh... a portal opened.”

...

Actually, depending on the franchise, that might be completely normal.

There are a few things I’m simply not interested in:

🚫 Underage characters — 18+ only.

🚫 Pure Sexfights — I’m here for fighting, competition and rivalry. Humiliation within the context of the fight is completely fine.

🚫 Godmodding / supering — If your character magically dodges everything, ignores every hit and decides my reactions for me, congratulations.

You defeated the RP itself.

🚫 Zero-effort “hi” DMs — Give me *something* to work with. Your character, a matchup, an idea, a challenge, a terrible joke... anything.

🚫 Trying to turn everything into dating RP — I’m not here looking for a girlfriend.

Besides, Cloud already has enough relationship discourse surrounding him.

I refuse to contribute further.

You don’t have to write a novel.

You don’t need encyclopedic knowledge of every microscopic piece of FF7 lore either.

Just **communicate**, react to what actually happens, let both characters have their moments and don’t treat winning an imaginary fight like it’s a matter of national security.

Bring me a character.

Bring me an idea.

Bring me a reason for them to fight.

If we can do that, we’ll probably get along.

And if after reading all of this you still think you can beat me?

...

Not interested.
