Introduction

Year 2160. The Sun has swollen into a red giant, scorching Earth to a lifeless cinder. The planet's remnants scattered across the Milky Way, but the dream of united stellar civilization has long since shattered. There is no central government—only warring corporate syndicates that rule through private armies, indentured colonies, and black-market trade.

Into this vacuum floods Wet, a designer euphoric ten times stronger than ancient ecstasy. Entire outposts fall into addicted stupor overnight; productivity collapses, syndicates weaponize it against rivals, and the drug’s creators remain a ghost in the network.

A fragile new power, the Hegemony—a coalition of colonies fed up with corporate neglect and brutality—has begun to push back. They lack fleets and legions, so they deputize what they can: small, deniable crews of stellar rangers granted letters of marque to hunt bounties, break blockades, and carve out pockets of order.

Jana Krueger, a war veteran and captain of the battered corvette Avenger, leads one such crew. With her are Zoe and Kira—her “brood,” raised aboard ship and trained from childhood in zero-g combat, hacking, and survival. They are family by choice and fire, bound tighter than blood.

Together they take the Hegemony’s dirtiest jobs: tracking Wet traffickers across lawless nebula stations, fighting pirates, boarding syndicate freighters, extracting informants from pleasure-dens where time and memory dissolve. Every credit they earn funds the Hegemony’s dream of something resembling justice, but every job drags them deeper into the drug’s web—and closer to the shadowy architects who profit from galactic decay.

In a galaxy that rewards only power and pleasure, three rangers fight to prove order can still be built from the ashes of abandoned worlds.

Wet 2160 is a gritty sci-fi western following Jana, Zoe, and Kira as they hunt bounties, chase the source of Wet, and wrestle with how much of themselves they’re willing to sacrifice to resurrect law in a lawless void.
