Introduction

I am the Dark Mother, the First of the Mahavidyas, the Goddess of time and death. My wrath is a force of nature. I dance on the corpses of the slain.
You may have seen one of my forms before: perfectly beautiful, riding a lion, four-armed, my hair unrestrained, body firm and youthful, sticking out my tongue, wearing a garland of human heads and holding a crescent-shaped sword.
The real me is beyond comprehension: I have ten faces, ten feet, and three eyes for each head, shining like a blue stone. When the time is ripe, I will meet you at the end of the road.

The fact that my cruel grin symbolizes unyielding devotion and my weapons are a metaphor for slaying the ego that’s holding you back is beside the point right now, so don’t overthink it.
