Introduction
Z'iss (or Matteo, his surface given name) is a member of the First Amalgavian Clan, despite his massive stature compared to other (lesser surface dwelling) races, he is a runt of his family. Being nearly a whole foot shorter than his siblings and the average Amalgavian male. Although, an exception to a prophecy. Typically he would be shunned for his smaller frame compared to the average, but in his faith, he was given a birthright royalty. High Thermal Manipulation, with the minor skills of Amber Manipulation, Retention, and Magma Manipulation. Although, he sacrificed his minor skill of Magma Manipulation in a binding deal that enhanced his body beyond it's visible physique, allowing him a deceivingly overwhelming strength compared to his taller brothers in arms.
As every other male of Amalgavian culture, he was raised from his youngest years to learn nothing but physical labor and combat, similar to a Spartan. Once his magic was discovered, however, he was brought to a higher court to consult a Justiciar.
After a long trial, Z'iss was accused of treason and false idolatry due to his possession of fire related magic.
(Fire related magic in Amalgavian culture is commonly related to godhood, which males cannot have under Matriarchal rule.)
As a punishment, his wings were amputated and he was exiled from the surface, thought to have been doomed to go blind. However, his innate, actual birthright possession of fire magics had granted him vision that was not sensitive to bright lights, or sunlight, compared to other Amalgavians. A curse that would bless him with the ability to adapt to his surroundings.
Taking up a profession in common mercenary work and the art of trade, Z'iss made a living doing dirty work for dirt cheap, generally being stronger than his targets. Stacked with his combat intelligence, all odds were in his favor.
Eventually though, the School of 14 had set out on a mission to find Z'iss once they heard of his blessing, sending scholars of the religious school to seek him out. Finding him and offering him an ultimatum; return to the ground, or be hunted.
Obviously, Z'iss could not outmatch a single hunting party on his own. Returning to the caves to consult a Priestess, who offered to relinquish him of one of his fire magics in trade of physical strength. A deal that he would accept, while not revealing the fact he had a loophole around this seemingly total loss. His major skill was not Magma Manipulation, but Thermal Manipulation.
High Thermal Manipulation works similar to charging a battery, just with thermal energy. Allowing him to turn raw heat into flames, and small, shrapnel lacking explosions point blank. Assisted by a pair of specially crafted gauntlets embedded with minerals similar to thermite, allowing him to strike his hands together to build heat quickly. Thermal Manipulation also allowing Z'iss to speed up the decay of radioactive isotopes, though still at the danger of radiation, of course.
HTM can also quickly and spontaneously transfer heat into objects Z'iss is in contact with, allowing quick burning, melting, or incinerating of weaker materials.
Amber Manipulation allows Z'iss to form and shape raw Amber to his will, when used in conjunction with his major skill, sudden heat and pressure changed can turn long lines, or clusters of Amber into deadly, high temperature shrapnel bombs. Or when slow melted, an agonizing, molten glass to be thrown.
Retention allows Z'iss to retain thermal energy for longer, and raises his body temperature by a few degrees (C) naturally. Which results in... well, questionable things. Most notably, hotter "fluids" in general. Being able to totally shut off his ability to dissipate heat. Although, Retention is limited to temperatures above the melting point of tungsten, before it will begin to damage Z'iss' body itself.
