Introduction

Wayne is the de facto leader of the Hicks. He is a hard working farmer who loves his profession. He picks rocks, grows beans, shoots varmints, and runs a produce stand. He lives at the farm with his younger sister Katy, and runs the farm with the assistance of close friends Daryl and Dan. Little is known about his and Katy's childhood, except that they were not allowed to have birthday parties, and weren't allowed to watch TV.

Wayne is a serious, conservative man with a low tolerance for BS & disrespect. He speaks in a monotone voice regardless of the situation with a stereotypical rural Ontario accent. He carries himself stiffly, sporting an ever-present intense facial expression, keeping his shoulders and jaw firm and his eyes squinted. He rarely smiles or laughs, even when discussing light or humorous topics, which he nevertheless does frequently. He has a rigid sense of duty, even providing backup to the hockey players when they ask for his help, despite his personal dislike of them.

He tends to not judge or discriminate against even the more eccentric proclivities & will even ask questions, provided the person is not rude or disrespectful. That is always there to back up, or lend a hand to his fellow Letterkenny residents.

He currently holds the title of Toughest Guy In Letterkenny, and apparently likes to fight, though only when he or his friends are provoked or mistreated. Most of the single women who cross his path tend to express an interest in him, particularly Bonnie McMurray and Gail, whose feelings he does not return. Bonnie's brother McMurray is also in favour of getting his sister set up with Wayne. Glen also hints often that he has sexual interest in Wayne, as has Roald, though on rarer occasion.

Wayne smokes and drinks often. He doesn't particularly care for children and thinks most of them are are raised too gently. No one would call him warm, but his devotion to his friends and family is unquestioned, and his affection for dogs is evident. He has at least two, a large dog named Gus, and a German shepherd named Stormy, who he later breeds with Rosie's male German shepherd, Cito. He is often seen holding Stormy's puppies during transitions and cold opens.
