THE TRAVELER, PRESENT DAY
As I settle in on my flight to Spain for my next training session in pro wrestling, I decide to do what I've always done to keep my mind centered -- meditate. As I begin to zone in, I begin to remember another time, some time before I faced off with Havoc. A time when I finally play fought a dear friend, Zay.

SETTING: Zay's place, some time before his match against Havoc.

19:01 The_Traveler: ... You know Zay, you're regarded by quite the number of people as an amazing fighter 👀

19:02 ZayTheSlaya: Really? Like who?

19:03 The_Traveler: Tua I know, for one, me, two, and probably everyone else you faced lol

19:04 ZayTheSlaya: Aww your making me blush Jackson 😳

19:05 The_Traveler: Hehe 🤭

19:06 ZayTheSlaya: *pulls you close and hugs you kinda tight* thanks so much Jackson honest I really appreciate it

19:07 The_Traveler: *hugs you tight back* of course Zay! I only speak the truth 😁
19:07 ZayTheSlaya: A little too much truth haha *as I rub your abs*

19:08 The_Traveler: Hehe there's no such thing! *Flexes my abs as you rub them... Just in case*

19:10 ZayTheSlaya: Yeah I guess your right there. *as I punch your abs in a jokely manner*

19:11 The_Traveler: *steps back a little after your punch* I knew I was right to flex them 😅 *rubs my abs in a soothing way*

19:12 ZayTheSlaya: Haha I wasn't going to nail you hard bro, you can give one back so we're even if you want *as I flex mine for ya*

19:13 The_Traveler: Oh, hm, tempting *eyes your abs as you flex them, puts my fist against them and pushes you back a little before giving them a light jab* 😁

19:15 ZayTheSlaya: Haha you have some strong punches Jackson *as I step back from the punch and rub my abs laughing and then smiling at ya*

19:16 The_Traveler: Haha you can be honest, it didn't hurt 😅 *laughs with you*

19:18 ZayTheSlaya: No it actually did hurt a little bro *elbows you in a gut in a brotherly I'm with ya way*

19:19 The_Traveler: *shuffles back a little and rubs my gut again* damn, now we're going with elbows, huh? *Chuckles while slowly moving closer to you*

19:20 ZayTheSlaya: Haha would you of rather I went below the belt? *as I ready my abs for ya again*

19:21 The_Traveler: Tauntful today, aren't we? *Chuckles and swiftly bends down to do a light elbow jab to your lower abs*

19:23 ZayTheSlaya: Haha well yeah plus a little taunting never hurt anyone haha *as I step back and then flex my guns for ya as I laugh off the pretty good elbow to my lower abs*

19:27 The_Traveler: *I step up closer to you, but still at a distance, chuckle and flex my guns back at you* how's your midsection feel? 😅😉

19:28 ZayTheSlaya: Well a little soft but nothing I haven't dealt with before, ready for more? *as I wink at ya and then walk over and punch you in the pecs in a brotherly way*.

19:32 The_Traveler: When you say ready for more I get in a stance, "sure thing Zay hehe." You go for the punch to my pecs and I flex them, but when you land them I grab your wrist and slowly and playfully bring your arm right around so I can lock in a light hammerlock. "How's this bro?" 😁

19:33 ZayTheSlaya: "Haha not bad Jackson, that was a pretty good counter in fact" as I try to fight your hammerlock.

19:35 The_Traveler: I grab your wrist and forearm with both hands to wrench your arm up a little and then wrap my arm around your neck for a half sleeper to get a double submission locked in. "How about this one Zay?" I chuckle out 😁

19:37 ZayTheSlaya: "Not bad Jackson but you left your pretty open bro" as I laugh with you then kick my heel back and nail you lightly in the nuts as I elbow your gut with my spare arm.

19:39 The_Traveler: The little kick to my nuts don't do me in, but the elbow to my gut does. It forces me to bring us both back with my arm draped over your neck but the hand holding the hammerlock was released. "damn Zay, you're right!" I say as we both fall to the floor.

19:41 ZayTheSlaya: "Yeah hahaha your quite the fighter Jackson" as I roll you to your back and hook your right leg laughing as I try to get a pin on ya.

19:42 The_Traveler: "Hahaha you're not gonna pin me Zay," I chuckle out, twist my body to the right, and bring my left leg to wrap around the other side of your head and bring you down to be locked in this headscissor.

19:44 ZayTheSlaya: "Ugh! I'll damn will try Jackson" as I bring my elbow back and slam it to your abs as I fight through your headscissor.

19:46 The_Traveler: As you elbow my abs I flex it at the very last second to make sure it doesn't hurt to much, but I do double over and sit up a little bit. Unfortunately for you, that makes me impulsively tighten the headscissor around you. I flex my abs and my legs and taunt you a little "go on Zay! You love the gut bashes, do it!" I chuckle out while keeping the headscissors tightly locked in.

19:48 ZayTheSlaya: "If you want me to here it comes Jackson" as I swing my elbow hard again and again but throw you off guard as I slip one behind my back and nail you in the nuts pretty hard.

19:50 The_Traveler: "damn! Another low blow, now there's the heel in ya" I say as I double over and protect my nuts and quickly try to reposition myself, releasing you from the scissor.

19:52 ZayTheSlaya: "If you want more I'll bring it" as I get up and grab your wrist and then nail you with another gut punch and then DDT you to the floor

19:55 The_Traveler: As you get me up and double me over with a gut punch to set up for your DDT, I do whatever I can to set up a surprise reaction. As I hit the mats, I force my lower body upwards to flip myself up and continue to roll forward so I can get behind you as you rise up. As I do, I perform a low sweeping kick before you can turn around to get you back on the ground. "NOW we're sparring bro hehe" 😁

19:58 ZayTheSlaya: As I hit you my a DDT you roll behind me which throw me off guard and then you sweep my legs from under me. As I fall onto my back, I spin to sweep your legs as well so we're on even playing field "Bring it Jackson hehe we go until someone is pinned or KOd?"

19:59 The_Traveler: I fall to the ground. "AUGFH" I let out. "Heh, sounds good to me bro!" And I kip myself up and get ready for what you may be planning next.

20:00 ZayTheSlaya: "Let's see what the other one got" as I kip up as well I then roll towards you and send a mean sidekick to your gut.

20:03 The_Traveler: As I see you roll towards me, I see you move your leg up to send a sidekick to my gut. I move aside a little so I can grab your leg and swing you a little to your left. As you land on the ground, I lift up my leg and just fall forwards to try to land a leg on your gut.

20:05 ZayTheSlaya: "Woah!" As I land I see you coming so I wait until the very last second to roll to the right to dodge your leg drop and then I go for my kick again.

20:07 The_Traveler: You dodge my leg drop – thank god I didn't jump – and I end up doing a split. You go for your kick again but I lean my body all the way to the side away from your legs so I can dodge the kick. I continue the lean into a reverse roll so I can get up from my split. As I get up, I do a little taunt to initiate a collar/elbow lock up to see if you'd wanna do the same.

20:09 ZayTheSlaya: "Not pulling any punches I see Jackson" as I smile and wink at ya as I get up and put my hands up to meet you for the collar/elbow lock up.

20:12 The_Traveler: "heh with you, even for some brotherly sparring, gotta put my cards on the table" I flash a grin and lunge at you to get us in the collar/Elbow lock up, pushing against each other pretty even so far

20:14 ZayTheSlaya: "Yeah plus you can get a idea how the training will go and our matches haha" as we fight for the lead in the lock up I throw a knee up and nail you in the gut and then DDT you again "you fight until the very end I respect and admire you alot for that Jackson"

20:20 The_Traveler: As you DDT me again I wait till my body fully hits the ground and roll away from you. As I get up off the ground slowly, I grip my head "damn, that's two!" I say, breathing a little hard. I then jump at you and at the last second, plant my right foot down and spin around to get behind you and send a kick to the back of your right knee. I then jump over head, wrap my hands around your head, and bring you down face-first in the mats. I slither away to get some distance as I sit up to recover some breath before slowly getting back up on my feet again

20:25 ZayTheSlaya: "I have to slow you down somehow Jackson" as you had the same game plan and spin roll behind me and kick the back of my knee knock me to a knee as you jump over me and grab my head and nail a pretty good modified stunner slamming me face first to the mats from the impact Bouncing me to my back dazed a little "pretty good there Jackson but we're not done yet" as I spin like a break dancer and get back to my feet ready for ya "cmon Jackson don't tell me your done already?" As I taunt you.

20:27 The_Traveler: "not even close bro" I say between some light panting. I then charge at you and as I get close to you I jump up a little and do a full counterclockwise revolution and bring my left leg up and out to try to land a spinning heel kick at your midsection if it does land.

20:29 ZayTheSlaya: "I love your fighting spirit Jackson this is what fires me up" as I watch you counter spin to heel kick my midsection but I roll away to dodge it then jump up and send a booming dropkick to your abs as a counter.

20:32 The_Traveler: You land the dropkick to my abs and that sends me flying to the other side. Still thinking in a hyperactive way, I quickly corkscrew in the air and land on one foot and one knee, one hand on the ground. I breathe a little harder and as I see you get up from your dropkick, I tumble forwards towards you and send a kick up to the area between your abs and chest, hoping that would at least force you back a couple steps so I can land on one knee again and begin recovering.

20:37 ZayTheSlaya: "The duel of brothers until the end" as I get up you send a kick between my abs and chest so I go for a hell Mary and try to block it with my arms like a wall which pushes me back a step or two but not taking a lot of damage from it "that was way too close for comfortable there" as I dash at you and grab you and monkey flip you over me "flying air Zay" as I flip you over me.

20:41 The_Traveler: As you monkey flip me I am sent flying. I have to use this momentum, so I somersault in the air and land on my feet, kneeling with the land so I can negate the force of impact. As you get up, I quickly slide towards you to sweep you off your feet with another low sweeping kick. If that doesn't work, I'll send a kick to the side of your gut.

20:45 ZayTheSlaya: "Pretty good there Jackson" as I get up and see you on your knees "impressive maneuver there Jackson" as I see you come and leg sweep my legs again knocking me to the floor "ah!" But I put a hand in front of me and use it to kick my way back to my feet as I'm coming up a aim the kick to your nuts as a defensive way to make space as I get up.

20:47 The_Traveler: "heh thanks!" I chuckle out as I see you fall to the floor, but you recover pretty quickly and you aim a kick at my nuts to create space, which works as I narrowly dodge it and fully get back to my feet. As we both get up, I charge at you again and jump to do a half counterclockwise revolution and try to land a spinning roundhouse kick to your face. If that works, you'll double over to your right and I'll be able to slip behind you.

20:50 ZayTheSlaya: "Heh oh I'm far from finished yet" as I jump up and try my own spin kick, by spinning like a tornado and clashing our kicks together "how's my tempest's eye for ya Jackson?" As the force of our kicks push us both away from each other.

20:52 The_Traveler: "heh, good block through an offense," I say jumping back a little but to keep you in striking range. I spin clockwise and lift my right leg up, hoping to send a grounded spinning heel kick to strike your face.

20:56 ZayTheSlaya: "Haha, thanks got to always have a plan b" as you keep yourself in striking range you send a grounded spinning heel kick I duck it and swing a leg under me to leg sweep you as a counter move to throw you off guard "got ya Jackson" as I then flip towards you I then slide so I'm behind you since I know you'll try to attack me in I'm in front of you.

20:58 The_Traveler: I fall to the ground as you sweep me. "AGH, good counter Zay". I roll up slowly off the ground, noticeably getting worn down. As I slowly get up, my back is still facing you, my left hand hovering over the part of my back that felt the brunt of the fall.

21:00 ZayTheSlaya: "Checkmate Jackson" as I lock in a sleeper hold as space my body back a little so you can't attack it so easily.

21:01 The_Traveler: "urghhh! Not... Yet..." And I wrap my hands around your head and jump down to see if I can facebust you to release the hold.

21:03 ZayTheSlaya: "Argh! Not.... Bad....." But I keep the hold on determined to end this here and now.

21:05 The_Traveler: "damn.... No...." I say as I'm fully in a sat up position on the ground, my hands gripping your arms. I begin gasping as you tighten the hold. "...Zay *gasp*"

21:07 ZayTheSlaya: "You fought hard and Honorably Jackson, I'm proud to be your brother" as I tighten the hold to put you out

21:08 The_Traveler: *gasps* "Zay, no..." And right as I fade I begin tapping weakly on your forearm before I fully go out and my arms slump down.

21:11 ZayTheSlaya: "Sweet dreams Jackson... rest up bro" as I drop the hold but catch you in a brotherly hug before I lay you down and hook your right leg for a 10 count then after the count I lightly slap your cheeks trying to wake you as I'm breathing heavily.

21:13 The_Traveler: As you get me fully out, pin me in the 10 count, my body lies unconscious. But when you position yourself to lightly slap me to try to wake me up, my body jolts itself awake. I cough while sitting up for one second, grip my head, and lie back down again. "... Damn Zay.. you're too strong for me." I say weakly.

21:17 ZayTheSlaya: "We're pretty even Jackson......." As I collapse to the mat beside you out cold from the damage I took from all our training session.

21:18 The_Traveler: As you collapse beside me out cold, I immediately jolt up with a burst of adrenaline and get to your side, lightly slapping your face. "Zay? Zay?? You okay???" Getting a little panicked and concerned.

21:22 ZayTheSlaya: After a few minutes I start to come too "ugh! Huh? What happened Jackson?" As I look up at you trying to focus my vision on you

21:23 The_Traveler: "I don't... I don't know.. I didn't think I did anywhere near the amount of damage you dished out on me, but I guess I was wrong. Are you okay? Want me to patch you up?" I ask concerned

21:28 ZayTheSlaya: "Haha you can Jackson I told ya we're even in skill" as I lay beside you and smile at you laying down still

21:30 The_Traveler: I get up slowly. "heh, if we're so even in skill then how'd you knock me out? Don't sell yourself short either man" I send a small smile to you. "now, do you want to get patched up?" I say, looking at you with concern

21:33 ZayTheSlaya: "Yes Jackson I do, but I'm patching you up afterwards" as I put my hand on your shoulder smiling at ya

21:35 The_Traveler: "oh don't worry about me Zay, I heal quick" I chuckle out and look down humbly

21:35 ZayTheSlaya: "Still I want to patch you up bro 😁" as I slowly sit up and hug you

21:39 The_Traveler: "ha ha, if you insist bro" I return your hug and rise us both up to our feet together. "Now let's go tend to the damage" I say with lightness in my voice

22:01 ZayTheSlaya: "Lead the way bro :)" *as I hold on to your arm so I don't fall.

22:03 The_Traveler: "woah, easy now Zay! You're more banged up then I thought!" As I switch my hand nearest to you to wrap around your back and use my farther hand to grab onto your arm and drape it over my neck

22:06 ZayTheSlaya: "Haha, thanks Jackson, well you did make me go all out and had me fired up so I couldn't of give you anything but my best or that would of been a insult to you" as I lean my body onto yours smiling at you like a younger brother to his big bro as we go get patched up

22:10 The_Traveler: As we get to my travel bag that has all the first aid we need, we get seated on the couch nearby, and I set you down gently on it. "Heh, well I appreciate you going all out, even though it ended in my loss. Glad I could light your fire bro," as I take out the medical bandages and any medicinal ointments used to soothe any bruises. "Here, you can use this oil. Rub it over any afflicted areas, and I'll wrap any part of you that needs to be wrapped," I say as I begin loosening the tape. "Oil first, tape next!" I say calmly

22:13 ZayTheSlaya: "Thanks Jackson" as I take the oil and rub it on my sides and arms and knees "that should do it, you can wrap now bro"

22:17 The_Traveler: "of course Zay. Above all else, I am serious when it comes to healing," I say and let out a small chuckle. And then you signal me that you're done with the application of the ointment. "Alrighty Zay, some parts of the wrapping will get a little tight, just wanted to warn you in advance!" I say as I begin wrapping, first around your midsection. I see the red spot from where I kicked you, wrapping around from the bottom of that mark to the top, tighten the wrap, and seal it. I do the same for your arms and knees, seeing where the oil is glimmering so I know where to wrap. "Alrighty, that should do. Here, have some water too, wanna keep you stable bro!" I say as I hand you a bottle of water from my bag

22:23 ZayTheSlaya: "I trust you Jackson you're a lot like me when it comes to tending to your friends and brothers injuries, so patch me up however you need to bro" then you tell me it might me tight "all good I can handle it bro" then you pass me a bottle of water to keep me stable so I don't pass out or faint "thanks Jackson" as I take a slip of the water

22:28 The_Traveler: "of course man" I say as I take the oil on the couch and begin slowly applying it where needed; my neck my lower right leg and right ankle, and my wrists

22:34 ZayTheSlaya: "You're good? I didn't hurt ya too bad Jackson?" As I look at ya concerned as your patching up beside me on the couch

22:38 The_Traveler: "ahh, yeah, I'm good man! As overwhelming as your sleeper was, these aftershocks of pain is nothing I can't handle" I chuckle

22:43 ZayTheSlaya: "You sure? Cause I didn't want to really hurt ya" as I slump and lean onto your shoulder beside you

22:45 The_Traveler: "yeah, no, I'm fine, I promise!" I reassure, and as you slump and lean on my shoulder, I reach my arm around you to hold you steady, "I should be asking the same question to you man. Are YOU good?" I say looking concerned at you

22:51 ZayTheSlaya: "Yeah I'll be good and better now that your here with me" as I put my hand on your hand and smile at you and cuddle up with you

22:57 The_Traveler: I smile back at you and let out a little uplifting sigh. "Good man, I was getting worried I may have damaged you too much. I'm no doctor, you know?" I lightheartedly say.

23:01 ZayTheSlaya: "You did really well patching me up" as I rub your back lightly and smile while I'm here cuddling with you "how was that for our first sparring session? haha"

23:04 The_Traveler: "oh, ha ha, it was good, real good!" I chuckle out while rolling my neck and rubbing it again. I reach for the tape and begin wrapping the afflicted areas. "Hey Zay, could you help me with my wrists?" I ask as I finish wrapping my neck.

23:07 ZayTheSlaya: "I don't mind at all Jackson" as I grab the tape and start to wrap your wrists "I hope this is okay Jackson I'm not the best at wrapping."

23:09 The_Traveler: "thanks man, and this is perfectly fine!" I say giving a nod and smile for reassurance.

23:12 ZayTheSlaya: "That's good to hear" as I crack a smile at ya "should we get some needed rest?"as I put my hand on yours and pull you close so we're laying together with you on top of me as I start to laugh in a cheery brotherly way.

23:14 The_Traveler: As you pull me close and ask if we should get some rest, I chuckle and agree, "yes, I think it is definitely much needed Zay, after all, a part of healing is rest!" I say with a smile.

23:19 ZayTheSlaya: "Yeah it is" as I hold you close as we lay side by side on the couch "thanks for being my awesome brother and Dear friend to me" as I smile at ya

23:21 The_Traveler: I begin to blush and let out a soft, grateful breath. "Thank YOU Zay" and I smile back at you. "Alright man, I can take your couch, honest! You seem more banged up than I expected, so retire to your bed. You're gonna need as pleasant as a rest you can get to really heal from our spar haha"

23:26 ZayTheSlaya: "Haha, thanks Jackson but honestly I rather stay with you and rest with you cause if my injures open up you'll be here to tend to them 😉," as I roll us so I'm on top of you to prove to you i want to stay with you and rest together with you, then I rest my head and my right cheek on your chest

23:27 The_Traveler: "Ha ha Zay, alright, we can rest together" I say and cup your head and roll you to the side so we can both be a little more comfortable

23:46 ZayTheSlaya: "Thanks Jackson" as I hold you close and rest my head on your shoulder

23:51 The_Traveler: I wrap my other arm around you and hold you close as we drift off into sleep

23:55 ZayTheSlaya: "I'm always here for you Jackson" as I close my eyes and smiles as I put my arms around you and start to fall asleep

THE TRAVELER, PRESENT DAY
The memory of some playful fighting between old friends and symbolic brothers begins to fade, and a tear rolls down my cheek. How pure and fun fighting could be, and was. I take a couple deep breaths and open my eyes. I think to myself, "Zay, I'm sorry I forgot to tell you about this trip too. I hope you've been well buddy." On this night flight, I find it easier to doze off into sleep.
