Justified cruelty

Starring
Layla_the_Goddess: It's not easy the life as what the humans call, an "outlaw", but don't feel any remorse for what it happened. In that battle, so many soldiers were asking for help, for illumination. For a light to guide them and, of course, I was not allowed to give them that kind of help. as a Guardian Angel, I got only one work. To protect an specific human. But understanding the misterious intentions for the one that is above all was impossible fur such a mundane mind as mine, even if I was an angel, those reasons escape from my understanding. But my crime, the only one, was to step out of my position for a single moment. When that battle began, the princess I was supposed to take care off, hid. Which made her safe, As I was watching how the battle developed, the people was suffering, killed, burned, men, women and kids, dead for the ambitions of the ones who hold the power, while they stay safe behind the big walls of their empire and behind the swords and shields of hundreds and thousands of brave soldiers. Humans are not aware we are here, angels are invisible to them, even if they see us, they'd get mad before even talk to us. So I made de decision.

Layla_the_Goddess: I couldn't stay there just watching, I had to help. So I offered my protection to a little group of civillians, I can help them with chariming, tenacity, vigority and positive thoughts, also reduce their pain so they can save themselves. And so I did, a family got out of the city just in time because of me... but when I came back. The room where the princess was hiding was raided by a bunch of mercenaries. Taking advantage of the war, they decided to betray their own kingdom and kill the royal family, so they can be heroes for the other empire. I was not there, the guards were easily eliminated, the Princess with her maid were abused, tortured and finally killed, as easy as it sounded. When I got there, it was too late. And a hard sensation in my chest paralyzed me, I heard the voice, a familiar voice. I've heard her before. Sometimes giving our missions and details. I knew what was coming, I though about my 2 options, try to explain what happened, and suffer from the punishment that, as I know, it's so painful some angels desire to die before accomplishing it. Or escape... which would make me a renegade. A "Fallen angel" and I was scared, I knew I was right, those royal family, why they had to live even when others die for them? In order to keep on helpíng, I escaped.

Layla_the_Goddess: I have been helping people for years, offering my power, giving them luck, determination, positivity but this started to made me feel weird. I've been having more violent thoughs, overall with the bad people, who only want to hurt or get something for them. and my wings... have been getting purple, bit by bit,I haven't hurt anyone directly, but sometimes... sometimes the people I help hurt others, that wouldn't hurt if I didn't bless them. And I'm trying to do my part, away from the heaven, away from the others Angels, I know if the find me, it'd be my end.

Layla_the_Goddess:

Seraphina: As soon as I learned what had happened to the princess, I understood everything in that instant. That is precisely why our rules exist. They are not arbitrary restrictions or cruel commands imposed for their own sake. They exist because even the smallest deviation can unleash suffering beyond anything we are capable of imagining. That is why you cannot allow yourself even a single moment of weakness. Compassion without wisdom is as dangerous as cruelty without restraint. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and no saying has ever rung truer. One of my angelic sisters discovered that in the harshest possible way. She acted not out of malice, nor out of pride, but because she believed she was doing what was right. She trusted her own judgment over the order that had been given to her. She allowed her heart to outweigh her duty.

Seraphina: Was the princess's death the spark that ignited everything that followed? Was it the beginning of the kingdom's slow collapse, the unrest, the fear, and the bloodshed that now stains the streets of what was once a thriving and prosperous capital? Were all those nameless victims merely the final echoes of one forbidden decision? It is possible. Then again, perhaps the kingdom was doomed long before that day, and this tragedy was only another thread woven into a tapestry that had already begun to unravel. We will never know. Yet in the end, the answer hardly matters. It was never her decision to make. That is the lesson so many fail to understand. We are not sent to rewrite destiny according to our own conscience. We are not arbiters of justice, nor are we free to decide whose life should be spared and whose suffering should be prevented. Our purpose is not to question the divine design but to carry it out faithfully, whether we understand it or not.

Seraphina: Our Father sees what we cannot. His perspective spans eternity, while ours reaches only as far as our own thoughts. To believe that our judgment could surpass His is not wisdom - it is arrogance disguised as compassion. And that is where every fall begins. The moment an angel ceases to be an instrument of divine will and instead appoints herself as judge, she steps beyond the role she was created to fulfill. She no longer serves the greater design but her own understanding of what is right. However noble her intentions may be, however pure her heart, the outcome is almost always the same. Nothing good ever comes of it. So when the voice told me it was time to put an end to the fallen Layla, I wasn't surprised. I had heard that voice many times before, each summons sending me to hunt monsters, demons, and those who threatened the balance between good and evil. This time was different. It is always harder to raise your blade against someone who once fought beside you, so my heart tightened with a dull ache. But I had known this day would come eventually. After all, there could be only one end for those who abandoned the light.

Seraphina: Drawing in a quiet breath, I unfurled my snow-white wings. Each feather gleamed with soft celestial light, pure enough to stain the clouds gold as they stretched to their full span. Divine power coursed through me, warm and familiar, filling every part of my being. With a single powerful beat of my wings, I launched myself from the heavens. The world blurred beneath me. Mountains shrank into wrinkles upon the earth. Rivers became ribbons of silver. Forests melted together into endless seas of emerald green. Clouds tore apart as I cut through them, leaving a brilliant trail of golden light suspended behind me. For a few fleeting moments, it hung in the sky like molten sunlight before dissolving into glittering motes that vanished into the wind. The sun had already begun its slow descent toward the horizon, bathing the world below in hues of amber, crimson, and violet. Long shadows stretched across rooftops as the city came into view. That was where I found her.

Seraphina: Without slowing, I folded my wings and dropped. To mortal eyes, I would have been nothing more than a streak of light falling from the heavens. Moments later, I reached the city. Despite the impossible speed of my descent, I touched the stone pavement as gently as a drifting feather. My feet met the ancient cobblestones without leaving so much as a crack. Not a pebble shifted beneath me. Only a faint ripple of golden light spread outward before fading completely. The square around me was alive with ordinary life. Merchants packed away their stalls before nightfall. Children chased one another between fountains. Couples wandered hand in hand while musicians filled the evening air with quiet melodies. None of them noticed my arrival.

Seraphina: To humans, angels exist beyond the limits of perception. Their eyes simply cannot follow movements like ours. Even if one happened to glance directly at me, they would see nothing more than a fleeting shimmer or a trick of the fading sunlight. From my perspective, they barely moved at all. A girl's laughter remained frozen on parted lips. A pigeon hovered almost motionless in the air, its wings beating so slowly they seemed suspended in time. The ripples in the fountain crept across the water's surface one painstaking fraction at a time. To beings like us, humanity lived in slow motion. Minutes passed for them while only heartbeats passed for us.

Seraphina: But there is one figure who moves freely through this still world. You. Standing in the center of the square, untouched by the sluggish flow of mortal time, as though the entire city had become nothing more than a painted backdrop around you. Our eyes meet. "You've strayed from the righteous path, Layla," I declare, my voice carrying with the unmistakable authority of Heaven itself. It echoes through the frozen square even though no mortal ear could truly hear it. "And you know why I'm here." Golden light gathers around me, illuminating the cobblestones beneath my feet. "Prepare to face divine punishment!"

Seraphina:

Layla_the_Goddess: When I realized you were descending, it was too late, I knew this day would come, and I was prepared, as I was moving around the beings called humans, looking, trying to understand what to do, how can I be really helpful to them, which was my one an only obligation. There were you, as presumptuous as you always have been. I look at you, I can't say I'm calm. I've heard of you. Your power your determination when punishing the ones who dare to stray or disobey. You outrank me, and I know I'm in real danger here. Even if you didn't bring anyone with you, something I point out "Seraphina, you always liked to do this on your own, don't you? Is it confidence? or a great overestimation of your own capabilities?" I try to sound as calm as I can, but I'm alert, my senses are on top, my grip is tight around the sword handle. I raise it, holding it with one hand, in the perfect position to wield it. "Or maybe you are underestimating me?" My expression is serious, I hold the sword in front of me with both hands, as an Angel, I've never had a problem to train and learn how to use a sword, but this was not an Angel sword "I'm sure you are aware of those rumors about weapons spread around the world... weapons made by non humans blacksmiths, with non mundane materials, do you believe in those rumors, Seraphina?" I ask you, stating to get my tone to a threat, and walking towards you, my purple angel wings extended, ready for a sudden movement.

Seraphina: "I alone am enough to deal with you!" I declare pompously, my voice ringing without hesitation. "You know as well as anyone how much evil surrounds us - how many innocent lives are threatened every moment. And you must not distract my sisters from fulfilling their duty. I'll join them myself as soon as I'm done with you." As the final words leave my lips, a brilliant glow gathers around my outstretched hands. Threads of radiant light twist together, growing brighter until they become almost impossible to look at. The light condenses into solid form, revealing two elegant swords resting comfortably in my grip, as though they had always belonged there. Their polished blades shimmer with a divine brilliance, each edge outlined by a soft golden aura. Intricate celestial runes wind along the steel, faintly glowing with holy power, while the air around them seems lighter, purified by their mere presence. Their very appearance reveals their angelic nature.

Seraphina: I tighten my grip on their hilts and lower my stance ever so slightly. Before making my move, my eyes drift from the twin blades in my hands to the weapon you carry. My expression narrows with quiet focus as I study every detail - the shape of its blade, the way it catches the light, the energy that seems to cling to it. I search for any hint of its true nature, silently judging whether it is blessed, cursed, or something even stranger. My gaze lingers only for a heartbeat before returning to meet yours. "Are you trying to intimidate me with that?" I ask calmly. "You won't succeed." My snow-white wings spread wide behind me with a powerful snap. A single forceful beat sends a gust of wind sweeping across the square, and I launch forward.

Seraphina: I fly low while both my swords sweeping outward to my right in perfect synchronization. My body twists gracefully into a spinning aerial maneuver, each rotation flowing effortlessly into the next. The glowing blades leave radiant trails through the air, crossing and separating in dazzling patterns that make it difficult to predict where the true strike will land. The distance between us disappears in moments. Just before entering your reach, I pivot again, spinning one final time with even greater speed. Using the momentum of the rotation, I drive my entire body into the attack. Both angelic swords descend together in a powerful diagonal slash aimed toward your left shoulder, their holy light flaring brilliantly as they cut through the air

Layla_the_Goddess: "So let s do it, old sister" I position the blade of unknown source in front of me. A pair of shining angelic blades appear on your hands after a blinding light, their golden gleam would be totally impossible to see for human eyes. You don't lose a second before charging at me, flying gracefully directly to me, it's difficult to even see your moves, your spinning makes difficult to track it down. I keep calm, remembering the way we trained, I've seen what you do, I'm aware of your tricks. When you finally reach my position, I can see it, you are aiming to cut me in a half with a single slash, I quickly wield my sword. My purple wings extend behind me to add strenght and support to me as I recieve the hit. Bright sparts are tossed from the 2 metals meeting in the violent crash, Bright runes start to glow in my blade, it starts to expel a dark aura, as our eyes meet, I tell you "Are you used to cold?" the ambience starts to get colder, as if all the heat just disappeared. My words are accompanied bby the steam of my breath as the blade's dark aura threatens to consume all energy surrounding, I fight and try to overpower you with my own strength, pushing your blades and aiming for your chest for a slash

Seraphina: "What a vile energy!" I exclaim as our swords collide with a deafening clang. The impact sends a violent shockwave through my arms, but it is not the force of the blow that makes my skin crawl - it is the nature of your power. The instant our blades meet, I can feel our energies crashing against one another as fiercely as the steel itself. Mine surges outward in an endless tide, radiant and warm, pouring into the world around us. Golden light spills across the air, chasing away the shadows and wrapping everything it touches in gentle heat. Yours is its complete opposite. It does not radiate. It consumes. Like a ravenous void, your energy reaches for everything around it, swallowing warmth, color, and it seems that even life itself. The temperature plummets. The cheerful murmur of the nearby fountain falls eerily silent as a thin sheet of ice rapidly creeps across its surface, spreading outward in delicate crystalline patterns. Frost forms along the surrounding stones, and a bitter chill bites through the air despite the glow pouring from my own aura.

Seraphina: "How low you've sunk, Layla!" I notice, and you answer not with words, but with a strike aimed straight at my chest. I snap both swords upward and cross them into a rigid X just before your blade can reach me. Sparks explode from the collision, golden light mixing with the black haze clinging to your weapon. Our blades grind against each other as we strain for dominance once again. I can feel the crushing pressure traveling through my shoulders, your dark energy trying to force its way through my guard even as my own light pushes relentlessly back. Using the deadlock to my advantage, I shift my weight onto my back foot and drive my right knee upward, then extend my leg in an explosive thrust. My boot slams into your diaphragm with enough force to knock the breath from your lungs. The impact breaks our lock, forcing you to stagger backward several steps. Then I complete the motion that began with my crossed blades. Brilliant light erupts from the edges of both swords, weaving together into a massive cross-shaped wave of radiant energy. The luminous slash carves through the space between us, trying to crash directly into you in a brilliant explosion of golden light.

Layla_the_Goddess: "Sunk, huh?" I say with a mocking voice when the dark energy of the blade continues glowing, trapping the golden glow of your weapons and yourself. I Start to gain some terrain, pushing the blade to your chest, knowing I'm being able to overpower you, but I lacked something important. You were not that weak, It was so late when I realized you were preparing, backing up to send another attack. Yes, it was late when the overwhelming weight of your right knee goes through my belly, hitting my abs at the point of the diaphragm, I spit some saliva. I am breathless, staggering back surprised of how strong you are. I hold my belly with both hands after a quick and soft moan, my eyes wide open. As I look at you, I see you are decided to finish me off in that moment, raising your arms with your blades and starting to charge with your devine energy. I cover my body with my purple wings, corrupted by the power of the dark energy of the sword, I cast some of that dark power atound my wings. Trying to protect my body from that powerful X shaped slash. The impact is almost immeadiate, I barely had time to protect myself, The pain of the hard slash over my wings is so strong, I can't help but moan in pain, How can you be so powerful to overwhelm me this way? My wings are clearly hurt, some feathers float around, shreded and bloody, I gasp, trying not to fall in that precise moment, When some of the dust floating cover me, I begin to cast the dark power to find my sword, which is on the floor, around 1 metre away from you, hoping you didn't notice, I infuse some power around the sword, and point it at you, aiming for your chest, in a desperate attempt, I move my hands and try to stab you directly with the sword.

Seraphina: Seeing my ranged attack land on your wings - a satisfying thwack echoing through the air - I don't give you a moment to recover. The opening is too perfect to waste. Without hesitation, I explode forward, closing the distance between us. Both swords are raised high above my head, crossed at the hilt - I'm a bladed avalanche bearing down on the swirling maelstrom of dust you've kicked up around yourself. The grit stings my eyes, but it doesn't matter - I don't need to see you clearly. I feel your presence - the weight of your stance, the rhythm of your ragged breathing - and I lock onto it with predator's precision. My grip tightens, knuckles whitening, every muscle in my shoulders and back coiling like a spring as I prepare to bring both blades down in a crushing, cleaving arc directly onto your skull with enough force to end this fight for good.

Seraphina: That's when I catch it - a flicker, subtle and venomous, at the extreme edge of my peripheral vision. A purple glow. Low to the ground. Gathering. Thrumming. My brain screams the warning a fraction of a second too late. My eyes dart sideways, and there it is - the tip of your sword, already lancing upward like a serpent striking from the gloom, aimed at the center of my chest. "Ah, you coward!" I exclaim as I realize that I poured all my weight into the descent, allowing you to punish my aggression with a ruthless counter. I throw my weight back, wings snapping open in a desperate, frantic beat to propel me upward, my feathers thrashing against the air in a wild attempt to change my trajectory by even a few inches. The world blurs - your thrust is impossibly fast, a streak of violet steel that closes the gap before my mind can fully process it... THRUUUSTT!!

Seraphina: The impact is a violent, splintering shock that drives the air from my lungs. Your blade doesn't scratch or glance - it punches through me with a sickening, wet crunch. But thanks to my last-second, wing-flailing maneuver, it doesn't find my heart - I've managed to shift just enough that the blade skewers me lower, punching through the soft tissue of my belly - instead of a fountain of arterial spray, I get a deep, gushing wound that floods my abdominal cavity with fire. I feel the cold steel slide between my ribs, sever muscle, and scrape against my spine before erupting out my back in a glistening, blood-slicked point. "Guuglkhh" A thick, choked sound escapes my lips, something between a gurgle and a groan, followed by a hot, metallic flood that spills over my chin and drips onto the hilt of your buried sword.

Seraphina: "What a... dirty trick..." I fly back a little and land on the ground, though not with the same ease as last time. The sword in my left hand begins to flicker - once, twice - its edges fraying into wisps of fading light. Then, with a sound like a sigh, it dissolves from the tip downward, fragments of golden light peeling away and spiraling inward until nothing remains but a single, pulsing sphere of radiance hovering just above my open palm. My now-empty hand snaps forward, fingers curling around the hilt of your sword - the one you so kindly planted in my gut. The metal burns against my skin, searing a brand of pain into my palm, but I don't let go. I can't. With a guttural snarl that tears from somewhere deep in my chest, I pull. The blade slides out with a sickening, wet rasp, each inch a fresh agony that makes my vision go white at the edges. The moment the tip clears my body, I hurl the weapon behind me with all the strength I can muster, not caring where it lands, only that it's out.

Seraphina: Blood pours freely from the wound now, a dark river cascading over my dress and pooling beneath me. My vision blurs at the edges, the world growing distant and sharp all at once, until I grab the hovering sphere of light - my former sword - with my blood-slicked fingers and force it into the gaping hole in my belly. The light doesn't just enter - it buries itself, sinking into my flesh with a hiss like water on hot stone. I feel it knit torn muscle, seal ruptured vessels, chase away the cold that was beginning to creep up my limbs. My breath comes in ragged, heaving gasps as I look at you. My left palm is pressed flat against the still-tender skin of my belly, finishing the final, delicate threads of the healing - a faint, golden glow pulsing beneath my fingers. All while my right hand still holds my second sword, raised in a defensive stance.

Layla_the_Goddess: "Damin it" I whisper to myself, thinking I aimed correctly, that strike had to go against your heart, but your impressive reflexes made you change the trajectory just in time, and now you are healing your own wound. That cross shaped attack of yours made me really hurt and I can't use healing magic. I look ate you severely, trying to understand how I can beat someone like you. Not even with a cursed sword I was able to finish you off and now it's out of my reach. But now that you are with one hand busy, is my best opportunity to try to land another good hit. Painfully, I extend my wings, visibly hurt but functional, I cast my magic, corrupted with a purple glow around my legs, I wave my wings them behind me, trying to reach as much speed as I'm able to, but thinking it could be faster if they weren't that hurt, it is maybe a bold move but I have to do it before you could recover completely, as soon as I am close enough I will extend my both legs attempting to dropkick your chest with all the acceleration I was able to reach

Seraphina: My belly is still aching, but there's no time left to tend to it - I can see you lunging at me. Your feet already left the ground as you hurl your full weight into a devastating kick aimed straight at my chest. My right arm snaps forward, the sword in my grip swinging into position just in time. I hold it flat, the blade horizontal, its edge parallel to the ground, creating a rigid steel barrier between us. My left hand shoots from my belly - abandoning the wound it wanted to cradle - and slaps against the flat of the blade near the tip, palm pressed firm, fingers splayed to reinforce the block with every ounce of upper-body strength I possess. A split second. That's all I have. Then your feet connect with the sword's flat face with a thunderous CRACK that reverberates up my arms and into my skull.

Seraphina: My elbows, locked and straight an instant ago, now buckle under the brutal pressure, tendons screaming as they strain to keep the blade from smashing into my chest. My biceps burn, my forearms tremble, but I hold. My feet, braced against the stone floor, are no longer planted. They're gouging twin trenches as I'm shoved backward, the scrape of my boots a harsh screech against the rock. Cracks spiderweb out from each heel, fragments of stone spitting up in my wake as I dig in, trying to anchor myself against your relentless drive. Even my wings snap wide open, catching the air like drag chutes, flaring taut to create every ounce of resistance my body can muster. Every muscle, from my jaw clenched tight to the calves straining in my boots, is locked in a singular, desperate effort to absorb and dissipate your momentum.

Seraphina: I slide. Ten meters. Twenty. The friction heats my soles, the stone groaning beneath me. At thirty meters, my heels catch a ridge, and I feel the force begin to bleed off, your push losing its killing edge. At forty, I finally halt, my arms still shaking, the sword still held between us, but now I have an opportunity to attack. Without dropping my guard, I pivot my weight onto my left foot and snap my right leg upward, driving my boot toward your exposed side in a sharp kick.

Layla_the_Goddess: My strong attack was not fast enough to overcome your own senses, as you were able to not only react, but also create an excellent blockage against my kick, and your strong body resisted, even when we advance algon 40 meters your arms and shoulders, all your body made it to not loose the block. When we finally stopped, I was too exposed, I failed to finish the fight with these 2 moves, I was about to backflip away from you, using your own strenght as a the fuclrum to get back and try to think in something else, a hard, incredibly fast kick landed. I was just able to react enough to try to block it with my right arm, flexing my biceps as hard as I could to resist, but in my position, without any support from the ground, basically falling while you kick me, the impact landed almost clear. Your instep crashing relentlessly against the side of my arm, but the real impact going through ir inside of my ribs too, I grunt in pain, as I am sent 10 meters away after that hard hit, sliding over the ground, dust floating as my body moves it, finally stopping after some rolling, I spit some saliva, I'm breathless, scratches on my skin after being rolled to the ground start to burn and keep me awake. Maybe I'd be unconscious if it weren't for that pain. I cough some times, squeezed my own side, I may have broken ribs, I'ts difficult to breath. I get to my stomack and put my palms on the ground, trying to lift my own body to my knees, I'm in danger, I know it, and I'll be done if I can't move

Seraphina: My kick hits precisely its mark, the force of the strike sends a powerful jolt back through my foot, the recoil rippling up my calf and into my thigh before finally fading in my hip. After sending you flying uncontrollably, I let the momentum carry me through, pivoting smoothly on my supporting leg as I complete a full, fluid spin. My snow-white hair fan outward with the rotation before settling as I plant both feet firmly against the ground once more. I straighten into a balanced stance, shoulders squared, chest rising and falling with heavy, ragged breaths from the effort.

Seraphina: Lifting my head, I fix my gaze on you. I watch in grim silence as you struggle against the pain, your body twisting as you slowly force yourself back onto your feet. There's no triumph in my expression - only unwavering conviction. "You shouldn't have strayed from the righteous path!" I declare, my voice ringing with absolute certainty, as my remaining sword slides into a firm two-handed grip. With a sharp step forward, I burst into a sprint, boots pounding against the ground as I rapidly close the distance between us. Every stride channels more momentum into the coming attack. As I enter striking range, I drive off my back foot and unleash a mighty upward slash. The blade carves through the air in a brilliant rising arc, beginning low near the ground before sweeping upward - from your hip to your neck - with the combined strength of both arms and the momentum of my charge.

Layla_the_Goddess: The air coming out of my lungs is hot, almost feel as if it burns my throat. A slight drop of blood coming out of my lips made me realize how hurt I am. I Finally get to my feet with an effort I've never done before "Your... path is not right" I stand still, rebel, holding my ribs with my right hand, more drops of blood coming out of my mouth, in just an instant, even quicker than a second, you closed the distance. Just in front of me, I know I can't move as quick as you do, one of my moves are equivalent to 10 of yours. When I realize you are about to slash me in a half I have an unconscious and involuntary reflex, blocking. Looking to grab you by your wirst and stop the blade, my move is stopped when your brilliant sword cuts through my forearm's, skin, muscles and bones, stopping right there for the remaining force of my shoulder and using my own weight. The pain is almost unbearable, the continuous burning of my forearm being stabbed was enough to wake me up one more time. I scream forcing our arms to keep together I chanel dark power on my left hand, forming a fist squeezing my fingers as hard as I can and finally looking at my target, my left foot planted behind me for more support on the front, sending my fist point-blank to your chin with all the power I manage to get in this short time

Seraphina: At first, I feel a profound sense of fulfilment - a visceral rightness that sings through my arm and into the blade as my sword pierces your flesh. The familiar resistance of skin, the slick give of muscle, the grating scrape against bone - it all unfolds exactly as it should. Perhaps even as it was meant to be. But then, the blade stops. Not with the clean, decisive halt of a strike that has reached its natural end, but with a forced deceleration. My expression melts into genuine confusion. Because with your desperate maneuver, at the cost of a ruinous wound that splits your hand to the bone and paints your forearm in cascading ribbons of crimson, you've arrested its momentum. You've frozen it in its fatal arc, preventing it from plunging those last few inches that would have turned this wound into a fatal one.

Seraphina: "How... how did you...?" The question escapes my lips not as a demand, but as a breathless whisper of disbelief. My eyes are wide, fixed on the obscene sight of your own blood welling between your fingers as they grip my wrist. It's only when I drag my eyes away from your mangled hand that I see it - the other fist, already cocked back and wreathed in a nimbus of sickly, pulsing purple light. It's a comet hurtling towards my face, and... CRACK! A sound like a tree trunk splintering in a thunderstorm echoes in my skull as your glowing fist connects with my jaw. A supernova of white light erupts behind my eyes, and the taste of copper floods my mouth. My head whips back on my neck with such violent force that my vertebrae crackle in protest. For a dizzying moment, I'm not looking at you anymore, but at the sky - a blurry, streaked expanse of clouds and light that wheel and tumble in a nauseating vortex.

Seraphina: It feels as if even my feet have left the ground, and only the frantic, instinctual beat of my wings snaps me back to a semblance of reality. I beat them wildly, chaotically, the white feathers thrumming with panicked exertion as I fight to regain my balance and control. My fingers, once locked in a tight grip on my sword, have gone slack, their nerve-endings deadened by the shockwave of the blow. I hear more than see the clatter of my weapon hitting the ground between us as I stagger backward while my head pounding with a skull-splitting migraine, my vision swimming in and out of focus, and my jaw throbbing with a dull, incessant pain.

Layla_the_Goddess: I finally gain some terrain over you, as you tought I was finished with that slash, I had to sacrifice my right hand, now almost useless as all my tendons from the forearm where cut at the sharp edge of your blade, It falls from my elbow and the cling it makes sounds louder than I tought, it must be because of the increase in my senses. Drops of blood falling to the ground from my forearm. I think in saving it, maybe running and escape but I know you would chase me untiringly until you get me, I know I have to end the chase once and for all. If I was able to finish you, no other angel would ever dare to come for me. And I'll live in peace.

Layla_the_Goddess: I decided, watching your golden bloody blade on the ground, and unable to reach my own sword, I bend my body painfully and take it, extend my purple wounded wings and prepare my legs, I look at you, and trying another strategy, as I've seen your reflexes and speed are better than mine, I decide for a false attack, I charge quickly at you, holding your blade with my only functional hand, as fast as I can, purple feathers float around when I come to you, aiming for your throat, but I will be a trap, when I am close to you I move my wings, trying to change my direction and sending a slash the best I can to your right wing, attempting to reduce your movility and make us more even

Seraphina: When I come to my senses and my vision refocuses on you, my gaze immediately falls on my own sword... in your hands. The blade that has tasted the blood of a hundred demons, the steel that was blessed by the heavens, the hilt that still bears the imprint of my palm, now rests in your grip. A grip that has no right to hold it. "How dare you!" The words tear from my throat, carrying the weight of every vow I've sworn to protect what is sacred. My wings flare behind me, feathers bristling with indignation, and I feel the divine hum of the weapon's stolen presence like a wound upon my very soul. "Don't even hope that this will help you!" I snarl, watching my own steel slices a golden arc toward my throat and preparing to evade it... But the strike's trajectory suddenly shifts.

Seraphina: My eyes widen, the end of my phrase dies in my throat, its confidence crumbling. I manage only to turn my head slightly to the right, a fraction of a heartbeat's grace, just in time to see the very tip of the sword graze my right wing. Then the sword slices cleanly, carving a furrow through snow-white feathers. The feathers explode outward - a blizzard of white and crimson, torn from their roots, spinning lazily in the air like confetti. They drift between us, beautiful and obscene, each one a piece of me ripped away. A searing line of fire blooms along the wound, a brand of agony that races up my spine and lodges itself behind my teeth. I clench my jaw hard, smothering the cry that threatens to escape, and through the haze of fire in my wing, I pull my left arm back. My fist clenches so tightly that a golden glow appears around my knuckles, and I drive it forward, straight into the soft cradle of your belly.

Layla_the_Goddess: As the blade, that golden edge you have always being proud of sashes through your wing, my mind can only think in one thing, I have to end you as soon as I can. With your mobility already reduced, I may be able, the best part was your face, that upset expression when I swung your own weapon against you, was priceless. The edge is impressive, I can't beileve I could just cut through like a knife diving a piece of butter. The bloody white feathers fly around us. The pain when our wings are damage is impossible to bear, I know that better than anyone. So it totally takes me by surprise that, in spite of your wing have almost torn in 2 parts. When I turned to wield it in a second slash now aiming to your body, the 1st thing I encounter with is your hard punch with holy, burning light surrounding it, hitting the very edge of my stomach, making me bend for the impact, the blade escapes from my fingers, tossed away from us, my body was totally stopped at the time your punch lands hard, my muscles and even inner organs compress inside of me. A spit of sailva coming out of my mouth in pain, my pupils constricted. I stagger back some steps before losing my balance and falling to one knee, holding my stomach with my left hand. My right hand on the ground. Supporting my weight so I don't fall, I gasp, trying to recover my own breath and coughing little dops of blood. Signal of the great damage you made in my inners.

Seraphina: My fist connects with your belly, and the impact resonates through my arm with a deep, satisfying thud. It's a solid hit - one of those punches that doesn't just stop at the skin, but drives inward, sinking into the soft resistance of your gut like a stone into mud. I feel your body fold around my knuckles, your breath expelling in a sharp, ragged gasp, and I push just a little deeper - twisting my wrist on instinct - before you double over, your hands clutching your stomach as you stagger back a step, then two, your balance shot. My muscles twitch, eager to follow, to rain down more blows while you're still reeling. Out of habit, I spread my wings wide to add some speed... The motion is meant to be majestic, intimidating - but the second my right wing stretches to its full span, a searing bolt of agony rips through the gash along its feathers. My jaw locks once more, and I bite down on a hiss, forcing the pain down into a corner of my mind where it can't distract me. Not now. Not yet.

Seraphina: "Ah, you unworthy creature!" My voice cracks on the last syllable, not from weakness, but from the effort it takes to keep my wing from trembling. "You'll pay for this!" I growl, not seizing the moment to attack you quickly, but not even thinking of stopping. Before you straighten your spine, I close the distance in a single step - my boot scraping against the ground - and then I pivot, drawing my right leg back in a smooth, coiled motion, my hip twisting to load more strength into the motion. My knee rises, foot flexed, and I unleash it all in one explosive snap: a roundhouse kick aimed straight for your left temple, my shin cutting through the air with a whistle of sheer speed.

Layla_the_Goddess: My vision is blur. I haven't had any time to stabilize it, I'm still bent on one of my knees, trying to look at you, The pain in my belly is one thing, but the sensation of not being able to breathe made me feel I was about to faint right where I was. I try to locate you, I can see you. There, not really far from me, a bright silouette of heavenly order, straight in front of me, I hear your words but I can't process them. A sudden change in your silouette made me shiver, you extended your wings, the inequivocal sign of you, preparing your next attack, I can't believe even with your hurt wing you are able to overcome that kind of pain and keep on. "How... you can keep on, what kind of training made you such a monster?" I pronounce my words. With bated breath, almost a whisper for the lack of air in my lungs. I use my remaining strenght to straighten my bent knee, standing the best I can, my left hand still holding my sore belly, your image becoming clearer bit by bit. Frustrated, powerless, not even studying your moves, preparing and getting a weapon capable of killing angels. My reaction is not fast enough to block it, you shorent our distance, before I could even straighten my back and a hard kick, that I wasn't able to even see lands, like de edge of a sword, the impact seems to cut through my body, the power of your muscles is totally out to any comprehension, even the one of an angel. I couldn't hear it, but I could feel it inside, little cracks after your strong kick lands in the part of my ribs, my constricted pupils look at you, my body is bent unnaturally to the side before being sent strongly to the opposite of your leg, with the null resistance I was able to do to block, my body is thrown violently and crashes against a rock that was cracked after the impact, with the characteristic sound of debris and little stones falling to the ground and a big dust cloud arund me, that moan in pain at the impact, then falling to the ground. I can't be sure.

Layla_the_Goddess: but at the extreme sensation of pain even during the fight, let me know I'm too hurt, maybe I have some broken bones but I can't distinguish them, can be my ribs, maybe part of my arms or hips. I turn my body to my belly, and try to move, I'm almost unable but my both arms seem to work, slow, trembling, I have just a little bit of strenght in my body remaining, attempting with so much effort to get to my 4s. My survival instinct telling me to stand, but my limited capacity not allowing it "Awww, no... I. can't die here..."

Seraphina: Setting my foot on the ground after the kick, I turn my head toward the cloud of debris still swirling from your crash. My gaze cuts through it like a blade, fixed on the crumpled silhouette within. Then, without hesitation, I start walking confidently toward it, each step measured and deliberate. "Pathetic," I say, my voice low and cold, carrying an edge of contempt that slices through the air as I close the distance. "You just needed to follow the divine order!" The words drip with scorn, each syllable sharp as I approach your broken form. At the same time, I summon light into my left palm - a radiant, golden glow that pulses with warmth and power. The light hums faintly, alive with righteous energy, as I curl my fingers slightly, ready to seize what I've come for.

Seraphina: I look down at you, still on all fours before me, your frame trembling, your head bowed under the weight of your fall. My shadow falls over you, long and imposing, as I extend my left hand forward. The golden light intensifies, blazing like a captured sun, and I place my glowing palm firmly on your corrupted violet halo - that twisted ring of tainted energy that hangs above you like a mockery of grace. My fingers close around it, the heat of my light clashing against its cold, sickly glow with a hiss of opposing forces. I clench my grip, feeling the halo resist, then yield, and with a single, fluid motion, I lift you up by it - from all fours to your knees, dragging you upward until our gazes force a meeting.

Seraphina: The halo trembles in my grasp, its violet corruption writhing against the purity of my touch, but I tighten my hold, refusing to let go. "And now," I continue, my voice rising with controlled fury, "you're spreading your unholy blessings upon mortals!" The words echo, laced with disgust, as my right hand swings back in a deliberate arc, muscles coiling, fist clenched tight. I feel the weight of the strike building, the tension in my shoulder, the precision of my aim. "Unforgivable!" I roar, and as the final syllable leaves my lips, I unleash the blow - a powerful hook, driven by my conviction, connecting squarely with your left cheek to send you crashing back to the ground.

Layla_the_Goddess: Your expression have changed, I notice it, it can't be contained, your anger, your fury. I do my best to stand up, but when you use my halo to get me to my feet, my leg tremble, barely being able to stay still as out gazes meet, I can look at the bright glow under us, even if I can't see your punch, I'm not willing to beg, I won't go like that, I grab your forearm with both hands and look at you in the eyes, defiant. "You can't forgive me for disobeying? or, maybe, you are angry because I was brave enough to think by myself, something you will never understand" my words are suddenly shut with the hard strike of your punch, with your holy power surrounding it, the strike is so hard I can only moan for a moment. Falling heavily on the ground, with dust flying around me and making all my sweaty and wounded body dirty too, Y grab it with my palm, and noticing the warm sensation and the metallic flavor of blood of my lip, cut. I try to crawl away, the best I can, I'm feeling dizzy, I know I can't win, but if I'm able to escape I will surely come back.

Seraphina: "You're not going anywhere!" I declare, my voice ringing with absolute authority, and I let the silence that follows stretch just long enough for you to feel the weight of your situation pressing down on you. My gaze follows your pathetic attempt at escape - those trembling limbs scrabbling uselessly against the ground, your wings dragging behind you like torn silk, your body betraying every desperate instinct to flee. I take my time crossing to you, each step deliberate, the soft thud of my boots against stone marking a rhythm of inevitability. When I reach you, I lower myself with an unhurried grace, and the weight of my body settles as I plant my right knee firmly into the small of your back, grinding your chest flat against the unforgiving ground. My right hand finds its way back to your head, but this time, it's not a cruel grip on your halo. Instead, my fingers splay out, burying themselves deep into your purple hair. The strands are soft, and I curl my fingers into a fist, getting a solid, unshakeable hold. Simultaneously, my left hand snakes out, its grip like iron as it clamps down on the upper edge of your left wing. I feel the delicate, yet resilient, bones and sinew beneath my palm, a perfect handle to keep you from squirming away.

Seraphina: With a firm tug on your hair, I wrench your head upwards. Your spine protests, arching into a painful, unnatural bow. But this lasts only a moment, because the very next instant I drive your head downward... And your pretty face brutally meets the stone with a sound that cracks through the air - a wet, heavy SLAM! that reverberates up my arm. Before you can even process the pain - before your lungs can draw in the sharp breath of shock - I'm already pulling you back up. "That's what will happen to anyone who has turned to the dark side!" I give you exactly half a second to register the world spinning around you. Then I do it again. The second SLAM! is wetter than the first, the sound of flesh and bone meeting stone with a sickening crunch echoes through the air one again.

Layla_the_Goddess: "gggghh, aaaghhhh" my moan of pain is loud, I grunt trying not to scream, I don't want to give you that satisfaction asyou bend my back, the natural shape of my spine is bent, unnaturarly for a moment, the shot of pain is immediate, holding my hair, with an iron grip I only feel for a moment, trying to hold your fingers and, hopefully, pry them apart. You pull so hard I feel my back would snap, but that pain doesn't last too much, when. The movement is so sudden, too quick to follow it when you push me hard, my face lands merciless on the ground, the impact is so hard we even crack the stone a bit, a big spot of blood spread around my smashed face, flowing freely after I could even feel it, was, my mouth, my nose, and innumerable cuts arund my face dripping too. Big drops poured when you lift my head again. I'm dizzy, my vision is blur, some blood have covered my eyes from a big cut on my forehead. Before I could say anything, a second slam echoes around. My face was flattened once again, "aaaaaghhh" I moan uncontrollably for second time. Now the blood drips even more, mainly from my nose and mouth, the pain goes through my entire head, feeling like burning from the multiple wounds, feeling and intense heat along all my head, partially limp, but conscious, unable to barely move. my hands are not trying to pry your fingers anymore, but I stay proud, feeling I want to beg, I want to ask for mercy, I'm scared I even feel I'm trembling, something I can't control. "You... aren't more than a demon with white wings" I manage to say, slowly, almost whispering, with the wet sound of blood interrupting my voice from my throat.

Seraphina: I disregard your desperate insult - it's nothing but the sputtering of someone who's already lost and knows it. I let it hang in the air, unanswered, as I lift your head off the ground with another pull. Your scalp tingles under the tension, and I can feel the faint tremor running through your shoulders - anticipation, or dread, or both. You're probably bracing for the familiar snap of your face meeting the stone again, the way I've done before, the way you've come to expect. But this time, I don't drive you downward. Instead, I hold you there, suspended, your neck bared and your chin tilted up like an offering. My right hand loosens its grip on your hair and slides down, fingers trailing along the side of your jaw, over the thrumming pulse at your throat, until they settle around your neck. My elbow finds its natural resting place against your windpipe - not crushing, not yet, just resting there with a quiet, patient weight. My left hand comes up to meet it, palm pressing flat against my own right wrist, clamping down in a locked, unyielding vise. I feel your breath hitch as the chokehold cinches into place, my forearm braced against the side of your neck, my bicep squeezing against the other.

Seraphina: Then I start to pull you upward and backward, using my whole body as a lever. Your spine begins to curve against your will, your shoulders dropping back, your chest opening to the sky. I feel the arch deepen - your back bowing so far that your breasts lift clean off the ground, the muscles in your abdomen stretch taut, your ribs expanding against the strain, and your toes scrape uselessly against the earth as you try to find purchase that isn't there. My forearm digs deeper into your neck with every inch of that pull, the edge of my radius pressing into the soft hollow just below your jaw, while my bicep compresses the other side. Your carotid arteries are caught in that vise, and I can feel your pulse fluttering against my skin - fast, then stuttering, then slowing. And I lean in close, my lips nearly brushing your ear, my voice calm and quiet, almost gentle. "You're almost there..." I say it not as a threat, not as a taunt, but as a quiet observation - like I'm reading the final lines of a story we both already know. I feel your body go weaker in my grip, the tension in your neck softening, your weight gradually shifting from resistance to reliance.

Layla_the_Goddess: aaackkkk!" My very first sound when you wrap your arms around my neck is not a moan, not a scream, something almost mute. Weak stridor comming from my throat as I'm not able to breath a single pitch of air, in desperation, my hands automatically grip on your forearm, in the most deep instinct of survival, but feeling like a giant snake coiled around, not moving your muscles a single inch. I'm forced to look up to the sky, my breasts almost going out of my armor, the muscles in my chest and abdomen stretched very close to their limit, and the worst part is the intense pain coming from my back, which is bent in an unnatural shape, the pain, alerting me something is wrong, that there is something I need to fix. That very common alert we all have felt, I'm not able to do anything to stop it. The pain only increases every moment you arch it, until I feel it's not moving more, like the last attempt of my bones to keep the form they were supposed to have, It burns, burns in my legs, in glutes, I can feel the espasms on them and the only thing I can do is to try to get your arms off me, but not strong enough to do it. It's when everythig gets clear. It's the limit of my spine, a little bit further, and it's going to snap, but even if it doesn't, the lack of air or the stretching on my cervical zone would do it too, I try to resist, I prefer dying before begging forgiveness, but as a reflex, for the intense pain I'm sufering, I can't help some tear drops comming from my eyes, the fear, the desperation, the frustration and the pain made it impossible to contain, combining with the blood splashed all over my face and the multiple wounds around it.

Seraphina: I feel a flicker of surprise beneath my calm exterior - not at your resistance, which was always inevitable, but at the sheer tenacity with which you're about to meet your end. Your body, trembling and straining against my grip, has held on far longer than most. "You're surprisingly durable..." I remark as you fight for every molecule of air, your body is a trembling bowstring pulled to its absolute breaking point, yet still holding. A pause. Then, softer, but no less final: "...But it's time to end this." The same detached tone I've worn like a mask throughout our encounter. No anger. No satisfaction. Just the quiet inevitability of a decision already made.

Seraphina: As the final words leave my lips, something in my demeanor shifts, a subtle relaxation. To your bewilderment, the crushing pressure on your windpipe eases, receding just enough to allow a thin, ragged stream of air to slash into your starving lungs. In the same fluid motion, my right hand slides from your throat, my fingers tracing your jaw until my palm cups your chin, my thumb resting in the hollow beneath your lip. At the same moment, my left palm presses firmly against the back of your head, my fingers splaying through your hair. "Farewell, Layla." Your name falls from my lips like a sigh while I slowly turn your head to the left... And then, with a sudden, explosive jerk of both hands in opposite directions, I wrench your head sharply to the right with all the force I possess!

Seraphina: Your neck rotates far beyond what flesh and bone were ever meant to endure, a full 180-degree pivot that leaves your spine a shattered ruin within your throat. The sound that accompanies it is a sickening, wet CRACK, signaling how your vertebrae separating, muscles tearing and tendons snapping like overstretched strings. And now you're facing me. Not from any natural position - but with your own back to your own body, your head twisted impossibly around to meet my eyes. Your teary gaze locks onto mine, eyes wide and glassy. Through the spinning chaos of your final perception, it is my cold, indifferent eyes that you see, and your own wings - they fan out in a final, involuntary twitch before falling still. Those two images - my unfeeling gaze and the shadow of your own broken feathers, eternally frozen in that moment of irrevocable finality - become the last things you will ever see before your upper body drops limply to the ground.

Layla_the_Goddess: In a moment, the pressure eases, maybe just for a moment but the pain is relieved, that crushin pressure in my spine, that seems about to snap is reduced. Not completely but now I'm not feeling as my body is being separated in a half, I listen to your words, not being able to answer at all to your compliment. Seeing that you eases the pressure, makes me think what you were planning, was it mercy? or would you prefer to continue the punishment? wasn't it enough all my body have suffered until now for you?, I may be right about you, I think you are more like a monster than an angel. I feel stupid when I feel your hand placing comfortably by the side of my head, I misunderstood you. You didn't have any mercy, and not any wish to keep on making me suffer. With a tight grip, and sudden pull, my head is turned violently. I stay conscious for a moment, black fog starting to cover my sight from the sides to the center, slow, a single tear coming from my eye and thinking if this was the real destiny the superior being wanted for me, bit by bit, My sight is fading, until I can't see a thing. My nervous system is destroyed, I feel no pain now, just remorse, and hate. For you, even for the one above us. How this brutality can be their desire? I see my feathers, shattered, my bloody wings with a final espasm I don't even feel, then, nothing. My conscious finally fade and my destroyed body is dropped limp to the ground.

Seraphina: "That's it." I say, the words falling flat and final as I rise from your still-warm body. I let my gaze drift across your face - those glassy eyes, wide and unblinking, fixed on some impossible point in the endless blue above. They don't follow me. They don't blink. They simply stare, reflecting the pale sky like two frozen ponds. I watch you for a moment longer than I should, something unreadable tightening in my chest - but I bury it deep, where even I can't find it. I raise my right hand slowly, palm open to the heavens. Then I part my lips and whisper words in an ancient celestial language - the syllables curl off my tongue like smoke, each one vibrating with a power that makes the very ground beneath my feet hum in resonance. With a sharp, decisive motion, I bring my hand down, cleaving the air. Above you, the clouds shudder - then tear apart along a perfect seam, as though cleaved by an invisible sword. Through that wound in the sky, a single beam of sunlight descends - blinding white, pure and terrible, a sliver of raw celestial fire.

Seraphina: It strikes your corpse with surgical precision, and in that instant, your flesh, your bones, the very memory of your form - all of it dissolves into a cascade of microscopic gold specks, each one catching the light like a dying ember, swirling upward in a silent, shimmering vortex. But the beam doesn't stop there. It pulses once, and then it blooms, expanding outward in a silent shockwave of radiance that washes over the entire square. Where craters yawned, stone knits itself back together with a soft, grinding sigh. Where walls have been damaged, they return to their original state. The destruction we carved into this world vanishes - erased like chalk from a slate - until the square lies pristine and untouched, as though no battle ever raged here.

Seraphina: Then, as suddenly as it came, the light contracts and vanishes with a whisper of displaced air. The clouds drift back into place, seamless and indifferent. I unfurl my wings, wincing as the damaged feathers catches the breeze. The cuts and tears are deep, but they will heal. I flap them once, heavily, and lift myself from the ground, the motion sending another jolt of pain through my shoulder. I do not look back. There is nothing left to see. I bank towards the distant horizon, to deliver my report. My mission is complete. I leave behind only a gentle breeze and the world that has already forgotten you ever drew breath.
