A British Boxer, An American Boxer, High Impact Collision in the Ring!!!

Starring
Emily Stanly (deleted member)

10:19 Emily_Stanly: The Pugilist is a sports bar with a 15 ft x 15 ft boxing ring, located in London’s East End. Once every month they host “Lady’s Fight Night”, a boxing event where woman can place their names in a box, and then they are randomly drawn and paired for matches. You never know who you will be paired against, which adds some element of risk and excitement, as boxing a stranger of unknown ability and size could result in a mismatch. I’m Emily Stanly of London, England, and at tonight’s drawing I was matched against a redhead American named Helen Redmann, quite the coincidence as we are exactly the same weight, within 1 inch the same height, and within one year, the same age. She looks fit for her age, as do I, and I suspect she might be a proficient boxer, as am I, although my boxing record of wins and loses is somewhat scattered. That head, with her perfectly cropped red hair, is a mighty tempting target.
10:20 Emily_Stanly: After the draw, I remove myself, and go to the changing room to put on some short black boxing trunks, a light grey sports bra that is pink in the back, hands wrapped with pink gauze and then inserted in some 8 oz blue Everlast gloves with white strike zones, and finally some white boxing boots. My shoulder length blonde hair will be worn loose. When it’s time to enter the ring, I’m announced as “Now entering the ring, is London’s own EMILYyyyyyyy STANLYyyyyyy, weighing in at 140 lbs, standing 5 ft 8 in tall and 45 years old!” Then to my surprise, the audio system plays out a short burst of “Rule Britannia!”, Britannia being a mystical warrior goddess from these isles of long ago. I move out to the ring, get my white mouth guard checked over by the ref after entering, and move to wait in my red corner, propping my elbows up on the corner ropes. You are not logged in. yt

10:10 mikeboxer2018: I am honored to be invited to watch this fight between these two magnificent boxers. Eager for it to start!
07:57 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: Visiting the wonderful world of London and I come across a place I'd never expect to find. A sports pub that has a boxing theme. My curiosity is peeked already and so I HAVE to go inside. Hmmmm, called the Pugilist. Nice! And what luck, I cannot believe it. Lady's Fight Night? Oh I'm IN! Wow, a random draw. That could get very, VERY interesting. And there it goes.... "Helen Redmann" Okay, this 5 foot 9 inch former American condender is in the pool.
08:00 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: Wow I got paired up against ... Emily Stanley. Let me take a look at her.... one inch smaller, 5 pounds lighter ... Damn her (lol). And she even looks like me. Ok is this a joke? Am I on some reality show. In all the places, now I get to box my sister I never knew I had. She looks just like me. Well then let's get this rolling.
08:14 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: I enter the locker room and get my black boxing shorts, black boots, and a pastel sports bra. and my red 8 ounce Everlast boxing gloves. I hear them announce my opponent, that aforementioned Emily Stanly and then it's my turn.... I come down the ramp and end up at the base of the apron. I hear, "And her opponent, from the Imperialistic Regime of the United States (gets a laugh from the crowd of local goons) Chicago to be exact where they have more guns than people, 5 ft 9 inches tall, coming in at 145 pounds,.......HELENNNNN! REDMANNNNNN!!!!!" And the club goes into BOO mode. Well at least i know where I stand. I pop my white mouthguard in as the ref gives me the version of a TSA agent rubdown looking for pot in my personal luggage. Well then I get to my corner and suddenly I realize you're opposite of me. You look like a very attractive ... ME. Well I plan on changing that very shortly. My gloves ready as I lean into the corner pad waiting for the bell.

08:20 Emily_Stanly: The ref motions us to the centre of the ring, and now I get a look at what appears to be my red headed version of me from Chicago, with what I would imagine would have an American accent. She looks positively dangerous, not bulging muscles or anything, but just the facial expression and her general demeanor tells me to watch out for her. The ref goes over his set up of rules, ends by telling us to protect ourselves at all times (like I don't know this), and then suggests we tap of gloves if we are so inclined. I extend mine for the tap, and then head back to my corner to wait for the sound of the bell. DING!
The bell sends tingles through every nerve in my body, and I move slowly towards the ring centre, in no hurry to burn energy that I might need later in the fight. I bounce lightly on the balls of my feet, and form an orthodox stance, left glove and foot leading, elbows tucked in. You are not logged in. As you approach, I begin bobing erratically from side to side, as motion confuses, and makes you are harder target to hit, or so the theory goes. yt
08:31 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: Asked to come to center ring and I get to see my opponent whom I know NOTHING about nor do I know her skill level. I could be going up against the female Frank Bruno for all I know. I'll say this, she looks amazing....just like me!! As the ref spews the same things we've heard a thousand times, when we are to tap gloves , we do, and I get a good look at her. Impressive is all I can say as I strut back to my corner.
08:39 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: I get myself ready, standing in a standard orthodox stance You are not logged in. , on my toes when.... DING!!! And it's on. I get right into it, mind already in fight mode. Leading with my left, my right is shifting and moving with the left as I adjust my body moment by moment. You come at me and move as if I haven't seen this before. You may be a moving target, but you certainly aren't a hard one to pick up. As we move, I look to play a game at the start. I move left then right and as I move right I step at you and look like I am bringing that typical first salvo, the straight left as if coming for your chin. But instead the left never launches, as my real blow, the sweeping right hook is coming for your jawline and chin wanting to start the party now
08:39 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
08:48 Emily_Stanly: This American is good at movement and foot work, I will have to give that to her. She moves right and then steps at me, her left is going to come out, I just know this from experience, so typical. Instead a sweeping right hook comes out fast and hard. I have little time to react, so I push out my left to partially parry the hook, my left forearm at least slows the impact down as your gloved fist smacks into my jaw, turning my face red. I feel a little shaken, having taken the first punch of the night, but instinct kicks in, and I counter with a pawing left overhand, towards the centre of your face, and then, dipping my right shoulder, I try to send an uppercut towards your navel. yt
09:02 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: And just like that, we are trading leather. My right comes hard and fast at you and I feel a charge up my arm when it makes contact even with you trying to defend it. Power certainly can make up for a lot of things. Your face goes beet red and I see your body shudder a bit, so I know the blow gave you the proper wake up call and almost put you to sleep. You of course counter bringing a swatting style overhand left looking to make an impression and more. My gloves close shop just in front of my face and your glove only smacks glove. but that right uppercut.....WHUMP!!! OOLFF!!! sends a solid message as it connects flush to my core right at my navel. I take the brunt of the blow stepping back a step and bendingI slightly. But this is far from my first rodeo, so when you go low, I come over that low right with my left, this one coming for your jaw as I uncork a left hook wanting to explode it into your right jawline, then try to play ping pong with your head ... and bring the power right hand looking for your chin and jaw. If you're gonna play rough, so is this Florida girl.
09:04 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
09:14 Emily_Stanly: The match is really under way now in ernest, with this Yank wanting to stand toe to toe. You close up your gloves quickly, to stop my overhand cold, no joy with that counter, but my right uppercut digs into your belly, and I can see by your expression that it was a surprise. You react fast, swing a right hook over my lowered right, and this is a scenario I am well prepared for, and react fast, weaving under your left. As I coming back up, though, that big red right glove is thundering across the space that seperates us, SMACKING into my forehead, your punch landing higher because of downward weave. It's a jarring punch that rocks my head back, but it does strike the most armored spot of my head, my bony skull. Again, my face turns red, more so from simply taking the hit. Mybrain is still working well though, and I step in towards you, and try to throw a left hook towrds your jaw, hoping to go over your right shoulder, and then stepping left I try to throw a right uppercut between your elbows, hoping to land my blue glove near or on your solar plexus region. yt
17:39 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: The action heats up as we are now toe-to-toe, exchanging leather at a fast pace. The thought that I'd be here doing this on my 'trip' is surreal in itself, but it becomes all too real when my left is slipped beautifully, but the THUD! that my leather-clad right fist makes when it smacks into your forehead sends your cropped locks flailing in the air. Your head goes back but you take it like a champ and step back at me. I am tired of this you get one, I get one, and have to change this pattern if I have any chance of surviving this gauntlet style boxing match. With there being no rounds, it's knock you out or be knocked out. And I don't plan on being the latter. You bring that left hook at my jaw and I detect a pattern early. Not one to reveal I know it, I do my best to shield the knowledge. The left comes and I am ready for it, but I slip and duck it a specific way. I slip under it moving RIGHT, to stay OUT of your powerzone, placing my shifted head and shoulders.... outside your left shoulder. When it sails over and you bring the right uppercut, not only are my elbows not there, my upper body has shifted as I now slide step right as well. When that extends up, there's no one there and your body is horribly exposed. I come under your extended right stepping into and twisting my torso left for extra torque, unloading a right hook looking to explode it into your left side under your ribs trying to bury it into your softer left side. Then I immediately reload the right and snap a powering right hook looking to crash it into your left cheek and jaw and simply put, clock you one and not only get you on your heels but put a hurtin' on ya and gain some momentum.
17:44 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
20:49 Emily_Stanly: I throw a left hook, and suddenly what should have been a nice explosion on your jaw, becomes a what the fuck moment, a moment of where the fuck did she go, as you slip under my left hook and move to my left, my left just swinging through the empty air. I would have checked my right uppercut at this point, but my right was already in play, and it too swings out into empty air space. A moment in time, a moment just too late, I realise that you are on my left side, and you expertly step into me, twist and unload a powerful right hook into my lower left side, just under my ribs. I grimace from the impact, and immediately feel lucky that my liver is on the other side!. I’m already bringing my left up to the level of my chin, when there is another big right glove heading towards my chin, and the lower part of your right glove hits off the top of my left, bouncing onto my left ear. Again I grimace, but this is not a direct hit, and I know I’ve survived it. My left lower side hurts like fuck, as you got a direct hit in there, and you KNOW how to throw a punch. I turn quickly to line you back towards my centre, and send a quick right straight towards the centre of your face, wanting to cover a retreat of a couple of steps to give me a few moments to reset, rethink, and recuperate. yt
07:22 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: When that right connects, I am sure it would land hard, and it did. I was also sure it would be a fight changer. That is TBD as my follow was partially blocked and smacks into your ear and jawbone area, your face again showing the resulting pain of its impact. I move and look for another opening and try to stay mobile and not be a sitting duck. You try to center me up and you 'reach' with the right. THAT was a mistake as I slip and shift immediately under it and bring a left hook planting my lead foot and twisting my torso to attack the other side of your body under your rib looking for that liver.... *Yuussh!! I then reload it and look to bring up a blistering left uppercut at that chin of yours *uuushh!!.. and put a hurtin on ya as they say in my country.
07:22 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
09:12 Emily_Stanly: My right just punches straight air, as you quickly weave under it. You send out a left hook towards my liver, a blow that might put me on the canvass, but fortunately my right straight was a parting shot and I am retreating from you, so that blistering left hook looses a great deal of power as it snaps in under my rib cage, I let out a little grimace. I don’t want to get trapped on the ropes, so I halt my retreat as you throw the left uppercut at my chin. I lean back from it and I see a flash of red glove brush over my face, momentarily blinding me, I respond by doping my right to try to send an uppercut towards your lower ribcage, and then follow that counter with another, I try to land an overhand left over your right guard, towards your temple, wanting to shake you up. yt
17:35 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: I cannot get anything consistent going and I'm missing more than I am connecting. Your movement and decisions and counters are consistently as if you are in my head. And this time I pay for it. WHUMP!! OOLFFF!! Your right hammers my left obliques missing my liver but does damage none the less and when the left comes, it crashes into my temple and I feel a searing pain go through my head and body and I drop to the canvas right there... WHUMP!!!!! I shake my head and try to get my bearings.
17:35 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
18:04 Emily_Stanly: I land a couple of nice punches, and feel a little better, that I might have your respect at this point. But I also realise you won't underestimate me again. The ref directs me to a white neutral corner, and I now watch on as the ref starts his count with ONE>TWO>THREE.....I am certain, though, that you can take punches as equally well as you throw them, although you might prefer, and generally do, the later yt
18:18 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: I take the full 8 and get up and get my gloves up. The ref asks if I can continue, and I tell him to "Get out of the way, of course I can." And come right at you. "Cmon, bring it." and I am moving and looking for an opening. If I don't find one, I'm gonna try and OPEN one. I spew venom at you as I hiss a bit. This just got a lot more serious and I plan on using that angst. That doesn't bode well for you.
18:18 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
18:37 Emily_Stanly: When I hear your response to the ref, I simply laugh. I tell myself she is pissed, and feeling a little humiliated, but she is fighting fit. You come at me quickly, looking for an opening, and this blonde does not intend to give you any. This is the time to come at you hard, hoping you might have some disorientation after the knockdown, so I decide to initiate some contact. I’m bouncing lightly on the balls of my feet, and moving side to side, and watch your gloves and shoulders closely for movement. Now is the time to get aggressive, I tell myself, so I commit to a plan. I try to send a left hook towards your right glove, trying to push it away, and then send a nasty right cross towards your right eye, hoping my left created the opening that I require, and as I pull back my right, I dip my shoulder to send the right back at you, as an uppercut heading towards your solar plexus, hoping to land it in under/between your elbows. yt
18:34 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: My heart racing, my blood heating, and my confidence shaken a bit, Already dialed up, I have been sloppy and foolish, but not now. My mind still a bit cloudy starts to process wht is happening. I see you coming and I also see you circle then move right at me. I'd have thought you'd be much more aggressive now, and you are. My head and shoulders shifting side-to-side as you look eerily similar in movement to me. My gloves tight to my head and elbows tight to my body, I'm playin a bit of turtle peek-a-boo and you swint a left hook. You try to break down my defense by swatting/chopping at my right. but with my right glove and arm being tighter to my body, your left doesn't do its job. So when you bring the right coming upstairs, I step and you and under the right, and you miss completely. I come quickly and look to drive my left shovel hook coming for your right jawline AS you reload the right. With you dipping the shoulder, your jaw is wide open so I follow through using my torso as an added push to bring more power to the blow and look to crash it into your jaw and immediately sweep a right hook at your left jawline trying to unload two bombs and turn the fight around.
18:36 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
20:54 Emily_Stanly: I’m feeling very CONFIDENT, the fight is going my way, and scoring a knockdown is, well, just simply pure ecstasy. And now it’s time to harvest to harvest what I’ve sown. My attempt to dislodge your right guard, however, does not go to plan, I simply just pound a glove that remains static. I should have checked my right cross at this point, but it was already on its way, but you react quickly and step right and under the right, and I just punch some air over your head. I should have rethought my right uppercut, but I figure I could still nail you with that, but you beat me to the punch, your left comes out, and SLAMS violently into my jaw, popping my head back, and I feel like I just got hit with a bull dozer. But feeling pain is good, because when you’re unconscious you feel nothing.
20:55 Emily_Stanly: I’ve got my left glove back in place, and your right hook smashes into my glove, which in turn pops me in the face, albeit more lightly than a direct hit would have. I stumble off to the left, and a few steps back now, blinking my eyes and simply wondering what the fuck happened, feeling stung and stunned. I pull my guard back up, feeling woozy. yt
14:19 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: Having my moments of success is very satisfying in the ring. Stringing that success together has been the problem. Seeing my formidable twin from the UK eat my left hook was another of those moments. Your head doing a great Rock'em Sock'em Robots imitation with your head going up and back was a satisfying visual, the sweat rainbow forming around your head when it hit, But damn it if you didn't get that left up, my right still leaving an 'imprint' would have been a much worse result. with you faltering left and back, what I didn't expect to see was that blink. I risk whether or not it's a ruse or if you're stunned and pursue you, both gloves loaded. I look to drive a power left jab at your chin, as your guard resets, and see just how sturdy that guard is. Then... I snap the left again to make sure those gloves are up or if you eat another one, either way, the goal is you not knowing as I pivot and drive my right looking for your left obliques looking to cave in your body.
14:19 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
14:30 Emily_Stanly: I know that I have only moments before you come after me, and I just have to adapt to that pain in my jaw. It feels like you hit me with a horseshoe buried inside that glove of yours. You come after me, and then try to drive a right through my guard, my guard holds, but it smacks my own gloves back into my face, a real display of your powerful right. Getting your own gloves back in your face is rattling and distracting, and the right opens my gloves enough for you to snap a left into my cheek, rocking my head back and forcing me to bite down on my mouth guard. You then pivot and I see your right drop, coming for my obliques, so I twist to my right to take the hit on my left elbow. I’m not going to retreat from this fight, its going to be toe to toe or the canvass, so I snap back a left overhand towards your temple, and as I come back to face you, a quick right cross at your right eye. Pfff pfff yt
14:48 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: You continue to show amazing resilience in the ring as your glove, not MY glove is pressed into your face. But it provides enough space as the left comes barrelling through. I feel a rush up my arm as I then bring the right. But sure enough, your prowess reigns as you pick my quick sweeping right like a pro and your left elbow is right there. And I pay for it. GGNNNN!!! your left just bludgeons my temple and the pain goes down my spine. Before I can even react.... HHHGNN!! your right cross splatters into my eye and I am hurt. I stagger right and stumble trying to reset, but my head is screaming from the exacting connection of your temple shot. I try to move away and reset but my world is hurting right now.
14:48 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
14:56 Emily_Stanly: My body is now thoroughly glistening with perspiration, and this American lady is proving to be a tougher opponent than what I thought she would be, but my quick counter of an overhand bomb with my left and right cross has worked. You pull back fast, like a cat sprayed with water from a garden hose, but I want to stay in close contact. I move in step with you, and weave and bob from side to side to create a confusing picture for you. I see a little circle of discoloration start on that right eye, and I smile a bit, thinking would it not be even better to close it for a while? I try to send a quick right straight towards the top of your trunk line, and then follow this up with a left hook towards the right eye, hoping to curve it around your guard. yt
15:02 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: As I stumble and try to make room, you don't give me any space. My gloves begin to rise as I stop my stumble with a loose left foot planted. Suddenly....FWUMP! OOOLFF!! Your right buries itself into my trunkline, sending a rush of air from my lungs. My eyes widen and my body shudders. I don't have another moment to react as ... THWACK! GGGHHN!!!! Your left hook hammers my right cheek just below my eye socket. The sting from the blow is telling. I can feel the swell occurring as I twist left and hit the ropes. I am stunned and the ring is spinning. My gloves up but that is just boxing instinct. I am in a world of hurt right now.
15:02 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
15:10 Emily_Stanly: My luck is holding, or maybe skill, either will do, as I land a nasty hook just below the eye, and the shot to the navel lands, but that was really intended to just distract from my main target. Right, time to put this yank on the canvass, I tell myself. She has her gloves up, but also has a glassy look to her eyes, so let’s rock. I step in towards you, pushing my right leg almost between yours, and dipping my left shoulder, I try drive a shovel hook punch just under your rib cage, hopping to find that liver, whether it lands or not depends if I can just get it in under those elbows, and then as I bring my left back up, I try to drive a right uppercut between your guard to see if I can’t pop that chin hard and watch that crop of red hair fly around. yt
15:22 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: With clear intentions, there is no respite. My impaired vision sees you already in front of me, stepping at me as I lean into the ropes. WHUMP! UUULLFF!!! I feel your left dig into my body just below my liver into my obliques. I shed sweat and a bit of spittle exits my mouth as it forms an 'O'. The hook caves in my right side And my body attempts to move but you've created the 'doorstop' with your right leg and I can only fold right. When I recoil... THOCK!! GGGGHNN!!! Your right uppercut shoots clean and clear through my elbows. my head flies up testing the elasticity of my neck. I see a flash, spew a spit trail, and my mouth guard loosens from within my jowls. My body violently shudders and my world goes foggy, my gloves sink to waist level. I hear the sound of a raucous crowd as if I am at some local football match. That is more telling than anything i can register.
15:22 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
15:29 Emily_Stanly: Before the ref can move to intervene I’ still in attack mode, and I want to finish you off as quickly as I can, especially now that the ropes are blocking any further retreat. As your gloves lower, I send a right straight towards your solar plexus, intending to back you completely into the ropes, and then I criss cross a left/right combo of hooks towards your jaw lines, twisting my core to increase the power of each hook, and prepare a right straight towards the centre of your face if you are still standing. The fight has taken a huge toll on me, and I’m now running a little adrenalin rush to keep me going. yt
15:37 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: I can't move away, trapped, and then, I get wrecked! WHUMP! UUUHH!!! your right crashes into my solar plexus and it digs in. My body freezes in place when.. HWAP THWAP! HNNNGGG! MMMFFF!!! your left and right just implode on my jawline, sending my head violently left then right, my face distorting from the blow and launching my mouth piece. My body starts to go limp when the straight right crashes into my face center mass sending my head straight back. Like a marionette who's strings have been cut, my body gives. Already out before I hit the canvas.... WWWHUMMMPP!!
15:37 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: yt
15:45 Emily_Stanly: It's a cool KO! I move towards a neutral corner as directed by the ref, and he looks over at you, I watch to see if he does a counts, or just waves his hands to declare the fight over as you appear to be knocked out. The Brits are delighted, screaming and applauding, and I raise my gloves over my head. The few Americans looking dejected, and thinking this was quite the upset victory, as you have a brilliant reputation. Tonight is my night though, and I have no doubt I might meet this Helen Redmann again someday in the ring. . yt
15:49 Helen_The_Redhead_Redmann: The ref does a courtesy look and then waves it off declaring you the winner by knockout. I get attended to and then helped out of the ring to the locker room where I cleanup and give myself a look, seeing that right eye swollen and the facial bruises. Not my best night in the ring for sure. But also not my last. I grab my gear and hea for the exits looking to make my way back to my hotel.
