"Resilience in the Muay Thai Ring: Dyer vs Valenzuela Battle for Victory"

Starring

08:39 Valenzuela: I’m announced as “THE FIRST FIGHTER TO ENTER THE RING FOR THIS MUAY THAI EXHIBITION MATCH IS CARLA VALENZUELA, WEIGHING IN AT 120 lbs AND STANDING 5 ft 3 in and 30 YEARS OLD! I move quickly into the ring, barefoot, and wearing  bright red, white and green colours of the Mexican flag on my sports bra and short Muay thai style trunks. Slapping my green 8 oz gloves together. Then “THE SECOND FIGHTER TO ENTER THE RING IS OLIVIA DYER, WEIGHING IN AT 125 lbs AND STANDING 5 ft 5 in and 20 YEARS OLD!

02:04 Olivia_Dyer: I wait just before my walkout, hearing them announce you and start your walkout. Im a lot younger than my opponent which is both a good and a bad thing. I feel confident though. Im fast and Im fighting an opponent where I can actually use that to my advantage. Im wearing black muay thai trunks with rose gold lettering across the front and the waistband rolled up slightly just below my belly button. I have a black low support nike sports bra on. The top of my breasts just visible. Covering my hands are black and white gloves. As I hear them starting to announce my stats my coach turns me around helps me take off my slip ons, revealing my bare feet and slots in my black mouthguard. She grabs my head and says "You got this Olivia, go show her the canvas." I smile and nod and then turn to walk out
02:08 Olivia_Dyer: I bounce up and down with a little hop as I walk toward the canvas. The crowd cheers as I briefly pump my gloves in the air before getting to the ring. I step through the ropes and my feet curl slightly on the stiff and cold canvas floor. I bounce around the ring in a circle getting a feel for it, before stopping in the red corner across from you. I look at you and I can tell you are likely quite a bit physically stronger than me. But this is my element. Your a boxer starting Muay Thai, and I am a Muay Thai boxer. This is the most nerve-racking moment, though. Right before the fight. Im in the ring and in my fight kit. The ref calls us together to read out the rules and have us face down before we officially kick off.
02:09 Olivia_Dyer:
08:39 Valenzuela: As I stand in my corner, my heart pounding with adrenaline, I watch Olivia make her entrance. She bounces up and down with youthful energy, clearly feeding off the crowd’s excitement. Her confidence is palpable, a stark contrast to the nervous jitters I’ve seen in other young fighters. She looks sharp in her black Muay Thai trunks with rose gold lettering and a black sports bra, the embodiment of speed and agility. I can’t help but notice how comfortable she seems in this environment. This is her world, her domain. I’m stepping into her territory, Muay thai, but that doesn’t intimidate me. Instead, it fuels my determination.
08:39 Valenzuela: As she moves around the ring, I observe every detail—the way her feet move, the spring in her step, the focused intensity in her eyes. She's sizing me up, just as I’m sizing her up. I know she sees me as the experienced boxing veteran, perhaps slower and more set in my ways, but I’m ready to show her that boxing experience counts for more than she realizes. This isn’t just about speed or power; it’s about strategy, endurance, and who can adapt faster in the heat of battle.
08:40 Valenzuela: The referee calls us to the center of the ring for the face-off. I step forward with measured steps, my eyes locked on Olivia. As we come face to face, I can feel the electricity in the air. I meet her gaze with a steady stare, letting her know that I’m not here to be anyone’s stepping stone. This is my fight as much as it is hers. The referee starts to recite the rules, his voice a steady drone in the charged atmosphere. “Alright, ladies, you know the rules. This is a Muay Thai fight—elbows, knees, punches, and kicks are all in play. Keep it clean, listen to my commands at all times, and protect yourselves at all times. No strikes to the back of the head, and if I say break, you break. Understood?”
08:41 Valenzuela: I nod, never taking my eyes off Olivia. We’re both here to prove something, both prepared to leave everything in the ring. The referee looks at both of us one last time. “Touch gloves if you want, and let's have a good fight.” I extend my gloves, and as I step back to my corner, I take a deep breath, feeling the anticipation coil in my muscles, ready to spring into action. The moment of truth is seconds away, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got. DING! DING! DING!
16:11 Olivia_Dyer: As I look at you from across the ring I do my best to maintain a certain level of outward confidence. Inside my body is shaking. I keep bouncing and shaking out my arms. The last Muay Thai fight I had was against a more experienced girl and she knocked me clean out. As I stand in the ring wearing the same trunks and bra I wore then, I can feel the nerves and the fear of being put in the same position. I briefly glance toward the canvas and remember what I looked like sprawled out. I shake my head and internally tell myself "Dont do that, focus Liv. You got this!"
16:14 Olivia_Dyer: The ref motions for us to come together and I stop bouncing and walk flat footed toward the middle of the ring. This is the first time I have gotten a good up close look at you. You certainly have more pronounced muscles than I do. I am mostly flat at best in areas where you have defined abs and biceps. I can barely even pay attention to what the ref is saying. I give you a look up and down as you do the same to me. Each of us studying eachother before staring eachother right in the eyes. I know you feel confident and I hope you think I feel confident. I extend my gloves just after the ref motions for us to touch gloves and I feel your gloves bounce off of mine in a quick rebound. We both take our eyes off eachother and back up into our corners.
16:17 Olivia_Dyer: This is the moment of highest adrenaline. I put my gloves up and my right foot forward. A bit of bounce in it as I ready for the moment the bell sounds. My chest moving faster and faster, my body shaking slightly as I just want the bell to ring. The ref motions to make sure you are ready. Then to me. I nod and then "FIGHT!" *DING DING DING* In that moment all the fear, the worry, the anxious energy leaves my body like a flood and I dash out toward the center of the ring. My gloves up in an orthodox stance around mid guard. I just want to test you so I use my speed to claim an advantageous position moving toward you, looking to see what your game plan is.
16:22 Valenzuela: The energy in the ring is electric as the bell rings, signaling the start of the fight. I can see the intensity in your eyes as you dash toward the center, gloves up in a solid mid-guard stance. I know you’re more experienced in Muay Thai, and I can already feel the difference in our styles. You’re quick, agile, and confident, while I’m more used to the measured rhythm of boxing. But I’m not here to back down. I keep my gloves high, protecting my face as I bounce lightly on the balls of my feet. I know I need to stay patient, to feel you out and see what you’re planning. As you move closer, I take a half-step back, maintaining my distance and trying to gauge your range. My eyes are locked on your shoulders and hips, looking for any telltale signs of your first move. mtc
16:22 Valenzuela: I decide to stay sharp and use my boxing skills to my advantage. I throw a quick jab with my left hand, aiming for your guard. It’s not meant to land; it’s just a probe, a way to see how you’ll react. I keep my right hand ready, protecting my chin, knowing that in Muay Thai, the real danger comes from more than just punches. I’ve got to be ready for anything—kicks, knees, elbows. But for now, I want to see how you handle my range and whether you’re looking to counter or to press the attack. I move lightly on my feet, staying unpredictable, ready to pivot or counter with my own power shots if you close in too quickly. This is a chess match as much as a fight, and I’m determined to show you that even though I’m a boxer, I can adapt and bring the fight to you on my terms.
16:27 Valenzuela: R1 2:50
16:29 Olivia_Dyer: As you throw a quick jab out I see your hips twist and I dont need to take much of a half step to the side in order to get around that. While I am stepping though I decide to use the moment in order to come in fast and hard and set the pace for the fight. As your left is still extended out I twist and move my right underneath your arm for a cross into the side of your body between your trunk line and your lower ribs. I dont stop with one punch though, I want to use my energy while I have the most of it. I transition from the balls of my feet onto my toes and start throwing crosses. After my right retreats, I twist and almost hop forward with a left cross into the same spot on the opposite side of your body, then again twisting and moving with a right and again to the left. Each time I move closer and closer to you before we are right on top of eachother. This is where I go to reach out with both my arms outstretched toward your neck, looking to pull myself in for the clinch
16:29 Olivia_Dyer: R1 2:40
16:34 Valenzuela: I see you slip to the side of my jab effortlessly, and before I can fully retract my arm, you’re already moving in with your counter. I feel the impact as your right cross slams into my side, just below my ribs, sending a sharp jolt of pain radiating through my body. Instinctively, I tighten my core, trying to brace for the next hit, but you’re relentless. You come at me again with a flurry of crosses, alternating sides and getting closer with each step, pushing me back and making it hard to regain my footing. I can feel the sting of each punch landing on my sides, targeting my body with precision and power. I know I can’t let you keep dictating the pace like this, or you’ll wear me down quickly. My boxing instincts kick in, and I start to move my feet, trying to circle away and create some distance, but you’re already on top of me, closing the gap. I can tell your speed is going to be difficult for me to handle. mtc
16:36 Valenzuela: As you reach out with both arms toward my neck, I realize you’re going for the clinch—a classic Muay Thai tactic. I can’t let you control me like this; I need to react fast. I duck my head slightly and twist my body, trying to slip under your grasp while bringing my arms up to block. I use my left forearm to push against your shoulder, attempting to disrupt your grip and prevent you from pulling me in. At the same time, I aim a short, sharp uppercut with my right hand, targeting your ribs, hoping to make you think twice about closing in so quickly. I know that if you manage to get me in a clinch, I’ll be in trouble, so I need to fight for every inch of space. I keep my feet moving, trying to pivot out to the side, looking for an angle to break free and reset the fight on my terms. My heart pounds in my chest, my lower sides ache from the pummeling, and adrenaline surging as I focus on staying composed and ready for your next move.
16:36 Valenzuela: R1 2:30
16:43 Olivia_Dyer: My attack does exactly what I want it to do. I am pushing you closer and closer toward the ropes. The crowd is very intrigued by whats happening. Watching a much younger fighter push a far more experienced one back, landing many solid shots in the opening seconds of the fight. Each of my gloves smacks into your body landing with a nice thwap each time. My original hit landed on soft skin. But as they go on your body gets harder and harder and harder, as you tighten up. That is when I go for the clinch, when I think you are too distracted on your body. I reach out thinking your response would be to try and dance your way out. It was very much not. In a surprise to me you go to box your way out. Your arm goes out and pushes me back just far enough I cant quite get that right grip on you and my gloves simply slip off the sides of your neck. Thats when I feel a big shot of pain smack into my body. I was so focused watching where your head was I missed your uppercut into my ribs. I let out a light moan in the moment *unghhhhhh* and bite down on my mouthguard. I know I trained to make sure I didnt take heavy body punishment from you and the first shot you land is a big one to my ribs.
16:45 Olivia_Dyer: I decide to back up just a step or two letting you think that you will have the moment to side step out of this situation and back into the open ring. I wait for you to make your move and it looks like you decide to pivot out to the right. So I throw my left leg up into a side kick aimed for the same section of your body, which not appears to be slowly turning red. I know you are likely less experinced looking for kicks and defending against them, so this will be an advantage for me. The goal is for you to walk right into the kick and take the full power of it to just further wear you down and allow my speed and cardio to play an even bigger role.
16:45 Olivia_Dyer: R1 2:20
16:51 Valenzuela: I feel the pressure mounting as you push me back further toward the ropes, I manage to land a solid uppercut to your ribs, and I hear your moan—proof that my punch had some impact. For a moment, it seems like I’ve got an opening as you back up, giving me some space. I think about pivoting to my right, trying to escape and reset, knowing I need to get out of this defensive position. Just as I start to move, your leg shoots up in a blur. I realize too late that I’ve walked right into your trap. I’m not used to dealing with kicks like this, and I don’t see it coming in time. Your left leg slams into my side with a powerful thud, and pain explodes through my ribs. My breath catches in my throat, and I let out a grunt as the force of the kick knocks me off balance, my body recoiling from the impact. mtc
16:51 Valenzuela: The area you’ve been targeting is already sore and tender, and this kick sends a shockwave of pain through my entire torso. I stumble to the side, my guard dropping slightly as I instinctively reach to protect my ribs. My breath comes in sharp, ragged gasps, and I know I need to recover quickly or risk you capitalizing on my mistake. I grit my teeth and try to push through the pain, forcing myself to stay upright and focused. My eyes lock onto yours, knowing that I can’t afford to let my guard down again. I raise my gloves, preparing for your next move, trying to keep my body moving despite the throbbing ache in my side. I need to stay in this fight and find a way to turn things around, but right now, I’m struggling to catch my breath and regain my footing. R1 2:10
16:57 Olivia_Dyer: My plan was completely right. You cant catch yourself in time and I feel my shin slam into the soft area of your body between your trunks and ribs. Your whole body ripples as your recoil in pain. I can hear your breath stutter as you stumble from the shot. You instinctively grab your torso in pain and go to protect it. Thats another part I should have realised. You are not conditioned for kicks, only punches. That gives me a plan of attack. You look in visible pain and I need to take advantage of your weakened state now. The crowd is extactic after the big shot and whether I mean to or not I am now feeding on the energy of the crowd. You stay moving back and forth so that I cant launch the same onlaught I did before, but thats okay because I have no intention of doing that.
17:00 Olivia_Dyer: I keep moving forward, staying light on the balls of my feet as I snap a few fake out jabs straight toward your body with a double right. This is just meant to keep backing you up a bit before I stop and arch my body backward and my right leg shoots up for a teep kick, the ball of my foot aimed to press directly into your solar plexus. As soon as my leg returns I use my grounded foot to push off the canvas floor and push myself forward for a rush and then push off the floor with my other foot and fire my right knee up and aimed for your solar plexus again for two big shots. Looking to really stun you or even force you down to the ground.
17:00 Olivia_Dyer: R1 2:00
17:07 Valenzuela: I can feel the pain radiating from my side where your kick landed. My ribs are on fire, and every breath feels like a stab in my lungs. The crowd is roaring, feeding off the energy of the fight, and I can see you drawing strength from their cheers. I know I can’t let this go on much longer; I need to find a way to stop your momentum. It’s only a minute or so into the fight, and I feel like I’m being dominated. You start throwing a couple of fake jabs toward my body, and I can tell you’re trying to back me up, keeping me on the defensive. I move side to side, trying to stay light on my feet and keep my guard up. I know you’re setting something up, and I brace myself, anticipating another punch. mtc
17:09 Valenzuela: But instead, you arch back and shoot your right leg up in a teep kick, aiming straight for my solar plexus. Before I can react, the ball of your foot slices through my guard and slams into my chest, knocking the wind out of me. I gasp, feeling the air rush out of my lungs as I stagger backward, struggling to stay upright. My hands instinctively drop slightly to cover my midsection, trying to protect the vulnerable spot you just struck. I barely have time to catch my breath when you spring forward, closing the distance in an instant. Your knee comes up like a piston, driving hard towards my solar plexus again. I have my gloves covering the solar plexus region, which mostly protect me from the strike. I even attempt to push your knee off to my right, as I stumble back towards the ropes, breathing in and out hard, after the teep kick, the crowd roaring their approval. I try to take the momentary unbalance that I cause you to circle off the ropes, but can't counter until some of my pain dissipates.
17:09 Valenzuela: R1 1:50
17:25 Olivia_Dyer: Once again your boxing instincts take over and even though you had just been kicked you were expecting a punch. Thats when my teep comes in and like my last kick, my leg meets soft skin. I press my heel in and extend my knee as hard as I can once I feel it meet your stomach. As my leg returns, I can see how much damage that did. My teep knocks the wind clean out of you and spittle flys from your mouth as you exhale sharply. I can see your breasts moving in sharp jutted breaths as I come in for the knee. In that exact moment seeing you hurt, I get a boost of energy not from my chest but from beneath my trunks. Im internally caught off guard by this rush of emotion and my eyes flutter for half a second as I feel my knee dig into something hard. It was your gloves which then shove my knee off to the side. As I was partially in the air in this moment, this actions throws me off to the side and onto the canvas. I land with a hard thud and quickly turn myself over and pick myself up. The ref briefly steps in between us to make sure you dont hit me until I get back up and then motions to continue fighting. You had no interest though in coming toward me, as you use the moment to circle off and back into the open ring.
17:27 Olivia_Dyer: I swear inside my mind letting this perfect moment go to waste. I cant stop now and let you recover so I quickly come back toward you. Stopping just at my kick range and immediatly twist and turn my body to raise my right leg up for a big high kick toward the left side of your head. You are likely going to be so focused on protecting your battered body, you might just miss my side kick coming toward your head.
17:27 Olivia_Dyer: R1 1:40
17:29 Valenzuela: I'm gasping for air, feeling every ounce of pain radiating from my ribs and chest. The crowd's roar is deafening, their energy almost mocking my struggle. You're relentless, and I can feel my confidence waning with each hit you land. I'm trying to keep my guard up, but every breath feels like it's been stolen from me, and my movements are slower, more desperate. As I circle off the ropes, I know I can't keep taking hits like this. I need to find a way to create some distance, to reset, but you're not giving me any room to breathe. I can see it in your eyes—you smell blood, and you're coming in to finish me off in an easy round 1 victory. You’re back up on your feet in no time. I force myself to stay focused, despite the pain and the panic creeping in. I know I need to protect my midsection, so I keep my elbows tucked in tight, trying to shield my body from more of your brutal kicks. I see you moving in again, quick and determined. My only chance is to catch you off guard, to surprise you with something you won’t expect. mtc
17:36 Valenzuela: You stop at kick range, so even a boxer like me can expect another kick. Why not? It’s been working like magic for you. Your body twists and you launch a high kick towards my face with your right, but this was telegraphed and I slip my aching body and head down and to my left letting your high kick pass over my right shoulder. As your kick sails over my right shoulder, I see my opening. I ignore the pain radiating through my body and surge forward, closing the distance between us before you can retract your leg. This is my chance to turn things around and use my boxing skills to get back into this fight. I step in close and throw a quick left hook aimed at your exposed ribs, hoping to make you regret overextending. Without missing a beat, I follow up with a straight right cross to your chin, putting all my weight behind it. I’m not done yet—I keep pressing forward, throwing a left hook to your jaw, trying to overwhelm you and make you back up. I can feel the adrenaline surging as I let my hands go, trying to capitalize on the brief moment of vulnerability. I know I need to keep the pressure on and not give you a chance to reset or come back with another kick.
17:36 Valenzuela: R1 1:30
17:45 Olivia_Dyer: You are less hurt than I thought you were. I keep up the pressure and think I will catch your destroyed body with that big kick to the head. I see you duck under it and I panic. My foot is still in the air and all I can do is circle it around and try to get back to guard or get my feet moving again but the second before my foot touches back down to the canvas I feel your left fire into my ribs. My body spasms in shock as it collides. The pain ripples across my entire body and even down through my legs. My arms instincually drop to my body and my feet go flat footed. You press forward though and fire a left hook into my jaw. It goed completly unimpeded and my head jolts to the side. Spittle flys from my mouth and sweat from my blonde hair. My head starts to feel a little heavy but I plant my feet. With each shot that lands my mouth gasps open for but a moment my eyes flutter. Each time I get hit with That only lasts for a moment though before the pain takes hold and I am thrust back into the reality of the fight.
17:47 Olivia_Dyer: I keep my feet planted where I am and push myself to keep going. You are up against me very close and I take this moment for the clinch. I reach my arms up and try to grab onto your neck. Once again extending my right knee and pulling myself in toward you to deliver a big shot to your stomach. I cant let up though, my heart tells me I have to keep going and I throw a left knee up into the side of your body toward your liver.
17:47 Olivia_Dyer: R1 1:20
17:50 Valenzuela: I feel the impact of my punches landing cleanly, and for the first time in this fight, I sense the tide turning. You’re reeling from the shots to your ribs and jaw, and I can see the shock and pain etched across your face. I press in closer, knowing I need to keep up the pressure to take advantage of this opening. But just as I’m about to throw another punch, I see your arms reaching up for the clinch. My heart pounds as I realize I’ve let myself get too close. Before I can react, your right knee drives up hard into my stomach, knocking the wind out of me. I grunt loudly, feeling the air forced from my lungs, my body folding slightly from the impact. mtc
17:52 Valenzuela: I know I can't stay in this position, vulnerable to your knees. Gritting my teeth, I brace myself for the next strike. As your left knee comes up aiming for my liver, I twist my torso to the right, turning my body slightly to reduce the force of the blow. I feel the knee connect, sending a sharp wave of pain through my side, but it’s not as devastating as it could have been. I know I need to act quickly before you can capitalize further. With your arms still trying to maintain a clinch, I plant my feet and use the momentum of your knee strike to push off against you. I aim a short, right uppercut towards your chin, trying to create enough space between us to break the clinch and regain some control of the fight. I have to keep fighting through the pain, keep pushing forward, or risk losing everything in this battle. My body is glistening with sweat and shaking from the impact of your knee strikes.
17:52 Valenzuela: R1 1:10
18:02 Olivia_Dyer: My first knee digs in hard. I feel it meet with your stomach. As our bodies are nearly pressed together we almost stick with both of our sweat soaked bodies. I have to be careful to maintain this clinch though. Your not a Muay Thai fighter so how you react to this will likely be very unpredictable. My head still hurts from the last shot so I have to be careful. I decide my best course is just to keep wearing you down as you have shown yourself unable to land serious strikes when I mount heavy pressure. So my knee comes up and you twist just missing your liver. I grit my teeth, knowing I had to hit that and then suddenly you use your greater strength to push back on me creating just a momentary gap before I pull us back together. In that gap though comes your uppercut. I never saw it coming. BAM. A hard *smack* echos across the ring as my head is violently snapped upwards. I was not even thinking about you taking a shot at my head and it hits like a brick because of that. My whole body goes stiff and my gloves release. I fall backwards toward the canvas landing with a hard thud. My body bouncing off the canvas floor once before coming to a rest. My eyes are open but glazed over. As I lay on the floor my breathing is rapid and occasionally shudders. My mouth is open gasping like a fish. Inside my mind everything just feels gray. I am just purely stunned.
18:02 Olivia_Dyer: R1 1:00
18:08 Valenzuela: I feel my uppercut connect cleanly, the force of the punch traveling up through my arm and into your chin. The satisfying smack echoes across the ring, and I see your head snap back violently, your body going stiff as your grip on me loosens. For a split second, everything goes quiet in my mind except for the realization that I’ve landed a big shot. As you fall back toward the canvas and hit the ground with a hard thud, I see your body bounce once before coming to a rest. Your eyes are open, but they’re vacant, staring up at the ceiling with a glazed look. Your mouth is open, and you’re gasping for air like a fish out of water, clearly stunned by the punch. mtc
18:09 Valenzuela: I know this is my chance. I can’t let this moment slip away. Every muscle in my body aches, and I’m gasping for breath myself, but I push through the pain and exhaustion. I move in quickly, but with caution, knowing that I need to be smart and not reckless. I hover over you, gloves up, ready to follow up if necessary. The ref moves in close, pushing me off to a neutral corner. He commences a count…..ONE>TWO> THRE> FOUR checking your condition. I wait, heart pounding in my chest, adrenaline still pumping. This could be it. I stay poised, ready for whatever happens next, knowing that in a fight, anything can change in a heartbeat.
18:09 Valenzuela: R1 1:50
18:15 Valenzuela: R1 0:50
18:19 Olivia_Dyer: I hear the count in the back of my head 1.........2........I slowly start to come around. My eyes shut for a moment and then reopen less glassy than before. I arc my head up looking at my body sprawled across the canvas. Thats when the blankness in my mind is replaced with a splitting headache .....3...... I try and tiwst myself onto my stomach. In that moment though I have another feeling shock across my body from below my trunks. My eyes flutter with the pure intensity of it. My sweat soaked trunks gripping my body no twitching and almost gyrating as I fight to get back up....4..... I push my gloves into the canvas and get back to my hands and knees. I look toward my corner where not only are they scared I wont be able to get back up but also my coach sees and knows what else is happening. I have a pained and almost desperate look in my eyes. I hear her call out "Come on Olivia, you got this girl, focus and get up, take your time, youve got this!" ......5...... I stay on my hands and knees for a moment breathing slowly trying to give my headache as much time as possible to leave me and trying to relax my growing pressure down below....6.....7...... At 7 I quickly rise right back up to my feet, I bounce a few times getting my head back together. Im not as hazy any more and the euphoria is starting to leave me as I get back in the right fight headspace. .....8...... The ref checks that I am okay and I nod ready to continue. I bounce up and down where I am and put my gloves up. The ref then motions to fight. I hear my corner call out "Thats it Olivia! Good Job! Now fight! Just a little left in the round!"
18:19 Olivia_Dyer: R1 0:40
18:24 Valenzuela: I watch closely as the ref counts, my breath coming in heavy, ragged gasps. I see your eyes shut and open again, your body twitching as you fight to get back up. Part of me is surprised to see you moving, pushing yourself to your hands and knees, fighting through whatever’s going on inside you. I can see the struggle in your eyes, the desperation, the determination to get back into this fight. As the count reaches seven, you rise to your feet, bouncing slightly, trying to shake off the haze from my uppercut. I keep my gloves up, ready for the ref's signal, my mind racing. You’re tough, tougher than I thought, and I know I can’t let up for a second. The adrenaline surges through me again, and I focus on my breathing, trying to ignore the pain in my ribs and the exhaustion creeping into my muscles. mtc
18:24 Valenzuela: The ref checks you, and when he sees you’re ready to go, he motions for us to fight. The crowd roars, and I can hear your corner cheering you on. “Just a little left in the round!” they shout. I know this is my chance to finish strong, to make sure you don’t have a chance to recover fully. I bounce forward immediately, not giving you any time to reset or find your rhythm. I throw a quick jab at your guard, testing your defense, then follow up with a sharp right cross aimed at your temple. I need to keep the pressure on, to stay in your face and not let you catch your breath. I can feel the intensity of the moment, the crowd on the edge of their seats, but I keep my focus sharp. I’m going to keep pushing, keep fighting, until the very last second of this round. This is my chance to prove I’ve still got fight left in me, and I’m not letting it slip away.
18:25 Valenzuela: R1 0:30
17:28 Olivia_Dyer: Im focused purely on survival. I know I can recover but I need time to let my body do what it needs to do. I have to use my agility to not trade with you. I can do that again once I have confidence I can actually take a punch. I bounce around failry eradically as you come toward me. You snap out your jab and I lunge backwards just out of range of your hand. You step forward and then your right cross meets my raised guard. A loud thwap as it smacks against my gloves. I am nearly up against the ropes now and that is a situation I CANNOT be in. I decide to step forward throwing a right uppercut into your stomach near your navel. Hoping it will stun you for just long enough for me to slide my way to the left and out and back into the center of the ring. Everytime I take these big swooping movements a wave of dizziness moves across my head, causing my footwork to be nothing close to precise.
17:28 Olivia_Dyer: R1 0:20
17:34 Valenzuela: I feel the impact of your uppercut slam into my stomach, right below my ribs. I grunt, tightening my core, but I can’t help the air that escapes my lungs. My feet shift back slightly from the force, and I feel a momentary shock radiate through my midsection. Your punch has power, and I know you're fighting hard to get out of the corner. I try to plant my feet, bracing against the pain, but you're already moving, slipping out to my left. I twist to face you, your footwork lacking its usual precision. Your movements are desperate, yet effective, and I know you’re buying time, trying to regain your balance and composure. I need to capitalize on this opening. I take a deep breath, ignoring the burn in my abs and step forward quickly, closing the gap before you can fully escape to the center of the ring. I throw a left hook, aiming low at your body to slow you down and keep you from getting back into a rhythm. I follow immediately with a right knee aimed at your side, trying to exploit your lack of stability. I can feel the intensity of the moment heighten, each second stretching out as I fight to keep control of the pace, to keep you off-balance and on the defensive. I know you’re a skilled fighter, and I can’t let my guard down, not even for a moment. This fight is far from over. R1 0:10
18:51 Olivia_Dyer: As I stumble on my footing for a moment, you are right on top of me; I am completely focused on my recovery in the moments before the round comes to an end. I dont see your left hook coming and it digs in deep just below my ribs. Spittle flys from my mouth as I sputter. Im stopped dead in my tracks as my body ripples from the strike. My body aches and burns as my arms drop down to my body. My glove grabbed my body instinctively in pain. Im looking at you as your knee comes up. My heart skips a beat and I get a big enough adrenaline surge to lunge myself back just out of range of your knee. I move back until I bounce off the ropes. Im stuck here, final seconds counting down and I lunge forward, anger in my eyes as I throw a left cross to the side of your body and then a big right hook to the side of your head, before I hear *DING DING DING*. The ref jumps between us and directs us to our corners. R1 0:00
19:03 Valenzuela: As my left hook lands solidly below your ribs, I feel the force reverberate through my arm, and the sight of you sputtering confirms that it hit hard. But then, my knee strikes nothing but empty air space as you manage to lunge back from it, leaving me unbalances, so as my knee returns, you come lunging at me with desperation, anger lighting up your face. Your left cross slams into my side, the impact jarring, sending a sharp sting across my ribs. I brace myself, keeping my guard tight, but your right hook catches me on the side of my head, twisting my face to the side. I grunt, staggering back slightly, the blow leaving my vision blurry for a split second. DING DING DING!!!!!
19:03 Valenzuela: The bell rings, and the ref jumps in, separating us before I can react and before you can followup with another blow, ending the round strong. I glare at you, wiping a bit of sweat and blood from the corner of my mouth as I step back toward my corner. The fight isn’t over, not by a long shot. You may have caught me in the last second, but that only means I’m coming back harder in the next round. I take some water, and get towelled down, to prepare me for round 2, realising it will be tough going. My head still swimming a bit from the right hook you delivered moments before the bell.
19:16 Olivia_Dyer: The adrenaline floods out of my body. I see you glare at me, but I look back, hurt and exhausted. I turn back to my corner and walk back flat-footed. My coach jumps into the ring and as I get close to her my knees shudder and I briefly lose my footing. She reaches out and takes me in her arms, spinning me around and sitting me down. My eyes flutter slightly as my corner gets to work, focusing mostly on my head and body. They massage my head and ice the red spots on my body. I finally get some water and the icing of the pain brings me back into this fight.
19:18 Valenzuela: As I wait for the bell to ring for round 2, I shake my head, trying to clear the cobwebs after that hook you landed. My face throbs, my ribs ache, but I have to stay loose and get ready for another tough round. My coach is in my ear, but all I can think about is getting back in there. I took a couple of good shots, sure, but I have to figure out how to break you down bit by bit. I glance across the ring at you, fire in my eyes. The brief break isn’t enough for either of us to fully recover, but it’s enough for me to refocus. The 10 second warning signal goes off…and I get back to my feet, reforming an orthodox stance….DING!!!!!
19:29 Olivia_Dyer: Im certainly hurt. My coach knows it, she can see it physically and emotionally. She pulls up on my waistband and pours cold water down them. At that moment, my eyes shoot open, and I take a deep breath in as the water flows in and through me. She places her hand on my chest to slow my breathing. "Theres nothing I need to say Liv. You know what you need to do. Just go out there and do it." The 10 second warning goes off and my teammate slaps my face and I hear her in my ear "Go get her, girl!" My corner exits the ring and I stand up. I take a few deep breaths in and out. I shake my head out and start bouncing again, putting my gloves up and ready. The ref checks to make sure we are both ready to start. I see you nod and then me. Then *DING* "FIGHT!!"
20:15 Valenzuela: As the bell rings, I take a quick deep breath and roll my shoulders, shaking off the hits from the last round. I wipe some sweat from my forehead and lock my eyes on you. The moment the referee steps out of the way and signals the start of the next round, I move in swiftly. I step forward, closing the distance quickly, and throw a sharp left jab aimed at your guard to keep your gloves high. Immediately after, I pivot on my right foot, sending a vicious right low kick towards your lead leg, aiming to buckle your knee and throw off your balance. And then I follow with a right cross aimed at your chin, snapping it out with precision, hoping to keep you on the defensive. I step back just enough to reset, keeping my hands up, hoping to block any counters.
20:23 Olivia_Dyer: From the word go its clear your in better shape than I am so far. Your moving quicker and with greater authority but I at least have some energy and power back. I get as far away from the ropes as possible but let you take the center ring. Your jab snaps forward and my gloves are up so it simply pads off of mine. I know you are good with your combinations so I am keeping a good eye on you and I see your hips pivot so I raise my right leg and check your kick. Our shins nearly collide with a big *CLACK*. That stings like crazy but not half as bad as getting kicked just below my knee. Im not unstable so I simply duck under your right cross, my body goes low and I let a right cross of my own fly out between your ribs and trunkline. I then stand up and lean back and raise my right leg for a teep kick aiming right for your navel. My heel pointed outward looking to dig deep and push you back.
20:31 Valenzuela: I feel my shin connect with yours—CLACK—a sharp sting shoots up my leg, but I push through it, knowing the momentum is still mine. You duck under my right cross, and before I can fully react, your right fist slams into my ribs. "Ugh!" I grunt, the impact sending a wave of pain through my side. You start to rise, and I can see you loading up a teep kick. Your heel is already aiming at my navel, and I don’t have time to avoid it. Your foot slams into my stomach, pushing me back a step, but I quickly plant my feet and brace. The kick doesn’t knock me down, but it pushes the air out of me, and I feel the blow where your heel dug in, forcing me to breath hard. I try to close the distance again, as I try to suck up the pain in my ribs and abs. I’m too late to counter punch, so launch another attack, I throw a quick left hook aimed at your temple, following it up as I step closer with a right knee aimed at your midsection, hoping to make you feel the same pain you just dished out to me.
20:33 Valenzuela: R1 2:40
20:39 Olivia_Dyer: Both of my shots land flush. My teep was the big one though as I see you stumble backwards. I see your chest moving up and down faster and harder. Mine is moving just about as fast. You are nowhere near being put down though even if you are hurt. So your coming right back at me. Your left flys toward me and I keep my gloves high allowing it to hit my forearm. It leaves a red mark from the thwap and it makes me a little nervous seeing the power you still have. Your right knee sneaks up on me with my gloves covering my face. My body isnt tense and its very tender from the last round. Your knee slams right into it, digging deep. It lifts me slightly off my feet and my breath is knocked 100% out of me. I stumble backwards keeling over. My breath moving at a million miles a minute as the agonizing pain moves through my entire body. R2 2:30
20:47 Valenzuela: My right hook kind of bounces off your high guard, and it clearly was no where near the knock out blow I had hoped for. My right knee, though, sinks deeply into your untensed abs, bending your forward. I see the big opportunity that has opened up for me, and I move quickly to take advantage of this moment. I take a short step back, then plant my left foot, and swing out with my right foot, trying to delivery a round house kick to the side of your left jaw! I put as much power into the kick as I can muster, hoping I can nail you hard!
18:46 Olivia_Dyer: Im certainly in a lot of pain but thankfully im not dizzy or disoriented. I see you coming right toward me and while I dont have the ability to use my feet and move out of the way, I shell up and tense myself for the strike. You spin and deliver a big roundhouse kick. It slams straight into my biceps with a ton of force. It doesnt hit my head at all but with the force of it, I am thrown off my feet and onto the canvas. Landing on my side with a thud. Im okay though and I quickly scramble back up onto my feet. The ref quickly jumps between us, pushing you back. He checks on me, making sure I just lost my footing and didnt get knocked down. I nod and bounce a little, showing im alright. He again motions to fight. I put my gloves back up. My survival adrenaline is having to take over again, im okay but I cant tense my body at all without getting a searing shot of pain. Im okay though and I need to press forward. I let you come in close and then I quickly lean back for a fast right teep kick toward your navel. I then step forward sending a double left jab toward your nose until im close enough to reach out and clinch. I try and wrap my arms around you and pull myself into you. As I get close I release my right arm from the grip and try and swipe a big elbow right across the side of your head. Putting a ton of power into it.
18:46 Olivia_Dyer: R2 2:10
20:28 Valenzuela: My eyes open wide as I see my right round house kick get blocked by your guard, the sound of the kick reverberating around the arena. It takes me a moment to bring my leg back, and this gives you precious time before I move forward, wondering how my “KO” kick turned into nothing. I see the kick coming toward me just as you move in, and I brace myself. But before I can respond, your teep kick slams under my guard into my stomach. I grunt, feeling the impact rattle through me, forcing me to take a step back. I raise my gloves just as your double jab snaps toward my face, but I block the worst of it. I can feel you trying to close the distance, trying to clinch me up. Your arms wrap around me, pulling me in tight. I know what you're planning, and I feel you loosening up for that big elbow strike. But I’m not about to let you land that clean. With all the experience I’ve got, I twist my hips just as you fire the elbow, letting it graze the side of my head instead of landing full force. I quickly bring my left forearm up, trying to push your elbow away while throwing a sharp left knee at your thigh to break your clinch. My abs are aching and I need to get out of this close range and try to control the fight!
20:28 Valenzuela: R2 2:00
01:05 Olivia_Dyer: The crowd is certainly impressed by my determination. After such a brutal knockdown in round 1 and all the punishment my small body has taken, nobody can say I am not seriously fighting to win. After that teep kick I HAD to land the elbow and I missed. I expended a lot of energy and suddenly I feel your knee against my thigh. It shudders my legs, and I break off, hopping backward. I've taken too much damage and gotten too exhausted to be missing significant strikes and be forced back out into the open. I can see how red your body is though and I need to get us back on even footing. I slowly move toward you, my guard up, moving with more caution than in previous rounds. I twist and throw a right question mark kick aimed at your body and then suddenly arch up toward your head. I use this to land some good head damage but also to bring your guard up as I step in closer for a right left cross combo to each side of your body, in the soft spot beneath your ribs.

09:55 Valenzuela: Photo not found.
09:55 Valenzuela: I feel relief after avoiding the brunt of that wicked elbow strike, and also feeling good about this fight, sooner or late I will catch you. It’s a relief to be out of your clinch too, I like up close but that is just to fucking in your space for comfort. I see you approach, and clearly up are going to go for a kick to my body so I crouch down, lowering my guard to block the kick with my right elbow, but that kick suddenly is whipped up high, and SMACKS me on the side of my head. My vision flashes white for a moment, and I stumble to my right, trying to keep my balance, feeling dazed and disoriented.
09:55 Valenzuela: I blink my eyes to clear my vision, trying to move to a high guard, which plays to your advantage, as you press your attack, your right cross SLAMS into the soft spot beneath my ribs, sending a sharp pain shooting through my side, and before I can fully recover, your left cross follows, nailing the other side. I gasp in pain, my body buckling forward from the force of the strikes, each punch sending me backwards until my back slams into the padded turnbuckle of the corner. You just kicked and punched the fuck out of me, and I can feel my body weakening, as I try to raise my guard, the crowds roar deafening at this fast turn of events. R2 1:40
19:56 Olivia_Dyer: My body surges with energy as I land a big kick toward your head. Then, even more, I follow you up with a big right and then left, each one seeing you grunt. I see your eyes flutter and almost get a little glossy at times. For the first time in this fight, you are completely on the defensive. I'm exerting a lot of energy to keep up this kind of pressure in the state I am in. I tell my body to push just a little harder for just a little longer. I need to put you down here and now. If I dont knock you out right now, and I allow you to recover, I am just going to get knocked out myself. I approach you against the ropes throwing a double right jab to your nose, hoping keep your guard high as I come in with a big right knee aimed right at your navel. I wanna knock the wind straight out of you and leave you gasping and sputtering on the canvas floor. R2 1:30
21:27 Valenzuela: I’m just raising my guard, and moving into a crouch, trying to make myself as small a target as I can, my floating ribs on each side ache from the powerful crosses that you ponded into me, and my jaw is radiating pain in all directions after the brutal question mark kick. And now I’m trapped in the corner as you approach, snapping out two right jabs at my nose, so I take those jabs on my gloves, leaving my abs open, and ugggg…..you step into me with a big right knee strike into my navel, bending me forward, gasping for breath, so I open my guard and try to wrap my arms around your body, trying to take you in a clinch, wanting to catch my breath. R2 1:20
21:32 Olivia_Dyer: My double jab comes in right against your gloves. Of course, I would like it if they smacked into your nose, but I did not expect them to. My knee does the big damage. I dig it in as hard as possible when I feel it connect. I can see how much it hurts you as you bend forward. I see your mouth gasping for air like I was earlier. Then you reach out and grab around me. You pull me into the clinch and put your weight on top of me. I am to physically tired to resist that pull. We are now body on body and both of our breasts heaving hard into eachother. As I hold up your weight and the pace of the fight slows, I feel my body getting heavier and more sluggish. While tied up I try and throw a right knee into the side of your body and then a left knee up and into your liver. R2 1:10
21:39 Valenzuela: I squeeze you hard, and its like our sweaty bodies have merged into one, single body, I feel my breasts pancake into yours, and we are both dripping with sweat. You send a right knee into my side, and I let out a gasp, so I pull you in closer as you try a left knee at my liver, making it impossible for you to bring a brutal knee up. The ref is shouting "BREAK!" so I know I have to push you off, so I bring my gloves up between us giving you a shove back, not easy given your muscular weight. As I do so, I try for a left and right straight punch towards your face, hoping I might have unbalanced you with my shove, and knowing I either box or get knocked out in the corner. R2 1:00.
21:44 Olivia_Dyer: You got the time to recover that you needed which is not good for me. As you shove me off I can tell you are by no means in a good place but you arent as bad as you were before the clinch. I stumble for just a moment as you shove me and your straight smacks into my head. My head jolts backward spraying sweat from my tied up hair but I manage to just get my gloves up in time to block the second one. Im trying not to look exausted but there is just no way to hide it. I take a step forward toward you and simply start trying to land on your body. Get you feeling the same way I am. I throw a right then left then right then left cross each one peppering the side of your body in each direction. Hoping to overhwhelm you on volume even if each one doesnt have a ton of power behind it.
21:44 Olivia_Dyer: R2 0:50
21:59 Valenzuela: My shove does not move you back more than a step, but its enough, for me to land my left on your cheek, and you guard up and take the right on your glove. I keep my guard high, about to another left straight at your face, uggggg…..uggggg….you land a left and right cross into my sides, and pain radiates outward from your body shots, I crouch and keep a high guard, gonna strike out for a head shot, but your left cross that hits my side ribs, and I’m backed into the corner AGAIN!...Not that I ever got far from it, as your right shots out, I finally have to twist and take the next shot on my forearm, as my sides are aching, even if the power of your punches are not like they use to be. I now feel like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming truck….and desperately try to jab my way out, with a left and then right jab towards your head….the ref looking on intensely as they do when someone is getting beaten in the corner. R2 0:40
23:45 Olivia_Dyer: I finally have you back on the ropes. Each of my punches landing against your body. With every shot that lands I watch you back up more and more against the ropes until you back finally hits the corner padding. With every punch I throw my breathing gets louder and more labored. Just after my fourth punch you snap out a double jap that snaps my head back. I stumble a moment as I gray out a little, taking unobstructed punches to my head. I lean in with my stumble and I am now very close to you again, with my distance and your guard being as low as it is, I twist and throw a right elbow toward the side of your forehead, finally hoping to land that big blow that puts you down.
23:45 Olivia_Dyer: R2 0:30
09:15 Valenzuela: I’m feeling trapped now, if I try to slide left or right, it opens me up for attack, but then the moment for trying to escape passes, my jab punches you in the face, and you now lean forward into me, my gloves under your arms, your elbow CRASHES into the side of my forehead like a hammer, a shockwave ripples through my skull. Pain explodes from the spot, sharp and blinding, and for a second, everything feels like it's spinning. My vision blurs, my balance teeters, and I can feel the throbbing deep in my head, growing worse with each passing second. I lean into you, my legs wobble, I place my gloves on your hips, trying to steady myself. I can barely think, just trying to push through a dense fog of pain, I know I should fight back, but my arms feel disconnected. The ref watches intently, but hesitates to call off the fight, thinking I can come back if I make it to round 3. R2 0:20
23:07 Olivia_Dyer: A *KLACK* rings out across the ring as my elbow connects unobstructed with your head. The entire crowd erupts in OOOOOS as you stumble into me. Your gloves gripping at my hips near my trunkline. I use my arms to try and push you up slightly and get your head off my body. I might be kind of out of it but I know the opportunity I have here. I grip your head and raise my right knee fast toward your navel, then again with my left. If you are truly hurt enough I should be able to land both these knees in a way you will be feeling them for the rest of the fight if they dont put you down. I hear the clack to tell us that we have 10 seconds left before the end of the second round. This fight has just been brutal for both of us but with that knockdown in the first round you are probably ahead of me by at least a little on the scorecards. R2 0:10
23:21 Valenzuela: I hear the KLACK and realise the bell will ring soon! I'm feeling stunned, still from that question mark kick, and then from the wicked elbow strike to my jaw. It's like there are cobwebs in my fucking brain! I begin to push on your hips with my gloves, but as soon as your gloves grasp the back of my neck, I know what's coming and tighten my abs, but even so, that right knee is already in motion, like a rocket, that SMASHES into my navel, lifting me onto my toes! My mouth opens, gasping for air, in a big stupid looking O shape. My gloves are low, so I move them in time to block the left knee from pounding me again. My legs are shaking when the bell finally DINGS!......I look you in the eyes, knowing that that bell saved me.....
23:33 Olivia_Dyer: My first knee lands flush and as I feel it dig into you I try and lift my knee as high as my body will let me, letting it dig into you as much as I can. It lifts you briefly up off the canvas and I can see on your face how much that blow hurt. My second knee would have been the killing blow if it didnt land against your gloves. Right as my foot returns to the canvas I hear *DING DING DING* and the ref jumps between us to break us up and points us toward each of our corners. You look up at me and I look down to you. Your face shows that my knee and the rest of my blows did a real number on you. My face, gasping for air, drooping, shows that I am exhausted and cant maintain that kind of pace. The next round will likely end with someone on the canvas. It's simply a question of whether it will be you from pain or me from exhaustion. I walk back flat footed toward my corner where my coach is there waiting for me. I turn and collapse onto the stool. I put my arms up on the ropes and my back against the cold corner padding. My coach pushes against my chest trying to force me to slow my extremely fast heaving breath and my team gets to work pouring cold water all over me and massaging my head and body.
23:36 Valenzuela: I stumble towards my corner, my legs shaking like they're about to give out. My breaths come in short, sharp gasps—each one stabbing at my core, reminding me of that knee that drove into my gut. I wipe the sweat from my forehead, trying to shake the fog from that elbow strike, but my jaw still aches, pulsing with every heartbeat. "Get it together... breathe..." I mutter to myself, trying to force the cobwebs out of my brain. My abs are screaming, but I tighten them anyway. That bell just saved me... gave me time. I spit into the bucket, the metallic taste of blood thick on my tongue. That damn question mark kick. I should’ve seen it coming. "How the fuck did I miss that?" I replay it over and over in my head, pissed at myself for falling for it. And that elbow—fuck—it rocked me real bad. My mouth piece is reinserted by my coach, who is also trying to give my fog soaked brain advice, but then the KLACK goes, and this ever so short break ends DING! Now I come out of my corner, slowly, cautiously, gloves at shoulder height, trying to split the difference between protecting my body and head. This is likely to be the last round, I tell myself.
23:40 Olivia_Dyer: *Klack* and my coach slots in my mouthguard and says to me "Keep it together girl, you got this." No smile on my face this time. I have to be somewhat helped up off the stool as the bell rings *DING*. Im not bouncing anymore. I put my gloves up into a mid guard stance. I slowly walk out flat footed toward you as the third round gets underway. My breathing is still much faster than my team would like for how little I am moving. I let you come to me as I take up position near the center ring slowly starting to circle around you to the right.
23:48 Valenzuela: I move flat footed towards you, and as you move right, I move right to circle for several seconds. This is a dangerous distance for me, as you have very fast and powerful legs, and I need to close this distance with out getting knocked out. I decide to just come at you, moving as fast as I can, I try to get in striking range, sending out a left jab towards your nose, hoping I can get you to close the centre of your guard, so I can try to sneak a left hook around your guard, targeting your head as I step left and closer to you. I keep stepping left, wanting to stay in contact, with another jab.
23:48 Valenzuela: R3 2:40
23:55 Olivia_Dyer: You step in as we circle for a moment. I keep my guard up as your jab simply smacks against my glove. I cant even see your fast follow up hook that comes around the side. BAM it smacks straight into the side of my head. My entire body jolts to the side as I stumble very hard. I am barely on my feet as I collide with the ropes. I grab onto the ropes as I struggle to get my feet back. My eyes are slowly shutting and then jutting back open. Your shot has also finally opened up a small cut on my head as some blood starts to trickle down the side of my face. The ref is looking at me very close as I just start to get my legs back under me. I put a very weak guard up as I look toward you with a pained and vacant expression. This round has almost ended before its even really begun.
23:55 Olivia_Dyer: R3 2:30
00:01 Valenzuela: I can tell my hook really rattled you, and even though I'm breathing hard, my chest rising and heaving with each breath, I know I have an opportunity to really work you over on the ropes. I ignore defense, and move towards you, first trying to give you a shove with my left glove to send you deeper into the ropes, and then I flick my left up, trying an over hand bomb at your forehead, thinking I might get it over your guard, and follow this by dipping at my knees, and trying to send a right uppercut into your belly button and follow this with a another left over hand, trying to get it over your gaurd again, and pound your head/face....I can't keep this up for long, and try to move in closer as sweat makes my body shine under the bright lights R3 2:20
00:09 Olivia_Dyer: I see you coming in, I know exactly whats about to happen. My mind yells "FIGHT OLIVIA" but my body just doesnt listen. The only thing I can do as you rush in is harden my guard up. You give me a shove but I do my best to stay right where I am, just off the ropes. My mind is mostly there still even if my body doesnt show it, and I see your cross coming over. I tilt my body and manage to make your big overhand land against my forearms. While moving I miss you dip down and send an uppercut under my guard and it lands clean against my stomach. My mouth juts open as my mouthguard flys from my mouth and sweat explodes off my body. With that shot my legs are gone. I collapse onto my hands and knees forward onto the canvas, just managing to catch myself before fully sprawling out. I slowly sit down grabbing my body with both gloves as I hunch over almost crying in pain. The ref gets down to my level looking me in the eyes 1...2....3....
00:14 Valenzuela: My overhand only hits your forearms, but that uppercut really catches you off guard, and down you go, clearly badly winded and in a great deal of pain. I stand over you for a couple of seconds, looking down, and then the ref gives me a sharp shove, pointing to a neutral corner. I feel a tiny surge of adrenalin hit me, although it's small, because the reservoir is dry. I move off to my corner, and then watch wondering whether you will be able to rise again. The crowd is loud and boistrous from this knock down. The ref continues the count 4.....5....R3 2:00
00:23 Olivia_Dyer: I feel beaten down sitting on the canvas but I know I have to get up. Im not gonna end this battle sitting on the floor. I lean forward getting back onto my hands and knees and rotate myself around toward the ropes. I begin to climb putting my weight on one rope at a time as the count continues to rise, almost in tandem with me reaching...6....7....8.... At 8 I rise back to my feet. I look very weak but my legs are steady. My body is red like a cherry tomato. The ref grabs my gloves, "You okay? You want to continue?" I nod to both and he decides im okay. The crowd applauds seeing me get back to my feet for the second time tonight. The ref motions to fight and we are back on.
00:29 Valenzuela: I come out of my corner, and approach you slowly, you've wrecked my body and head badly in this fight, I'm hesitant to rush into one of your traps, I did that throughout round 2. I circle to my right and then slowly come into range. You've guarded up well, although you are breathing hard and your footwork is stiff. I decide to try a kick, so I pivot to my left on my left foot, lean lower, and try to send a right side kick towards your midsection, trying to go under your guard, and after bringing my right leg back, I try move into you to follow this with a left and right hook combo towards the sides of your head, even if the don't land, I want to force you back to the ropes or corner like you did to me in the last round. 15:45 Olivia_Dyer: I am in a very bad spot right now. Although I am back on my feet, my body is in agonizing pain. I can almost feel the breeze in the stadium and it stings my body with how tender it is. I keep my guard low as your kick comes in. It smacks against my bicep and kind of knocks me to the side but I am still just fine. Its your follow up that lands hard though. I am so hesitant to move my arms away from my body that I get rocked with your left hook which stumbles me back against the ropes and then again with your right. Both smacking me around and causing sweat to explode off my hair and splatter the ring. I start to feel light headed and floppy. I shake my head and in my passing moments of lucidity, I reach my arms out around your head and try to go in for the clinch. As I pull myself in, I go for the tried and true method of releasing my right arm and swinging my elbow across your forehead. R3 1:30
15:53 Valenzuela: I get a spray of sweat off your head as my hooks land, and then I stay in lock step with you, as you stumble back into the ropes. I start to drop my left glove, to attempt an uppercut at your midsection, when you reach out with your gloves, wrapping them around my head. I smirk, realizing you are going for a knee strike, and so I keep my glove low and steady, ready to intercept the knee, and then will follow with my uppercut to your gut. FUCK!!!!!!The knee does not come...instead a big right ELBOW swings out, hooking into my forehead, twisting my face to my right. The blow lands with a massive thud, and drops me to my knees, as I do so, I try to wrap my arms around your thighs, to steady myself, my face pushing into your groin, as the ring begins to swirl about. R3 1:20
15:58 Olivia_Dyer: BAM! My elbow lands with a heavy thud as you fall down to your knees, down for the first time tonight. You slowly lean forward trying to steady yourself and I feel your head push into the front of my trunks. The sudden boost of adrenaline watching you fall and then combined with the pressure you have suddenly applied to me, makes me let out this brief sputtered moan of euphoria before the ref jumps between us and pushes me back from you. He gets down to your level and starts the count 1....2.....3..... I back up toward the neutral white corner and place my arms over the ropes watching you, and praying you stay down. My chest is moving fast and my knees are certainly nowhere near stiff
15:58 Olivia_Dyer: R3 1:10
16:02 Valenzuela: I feel like the ring won't stop twirling after taking that wicked elbow to my head....the ref is counting, and I'm now down on all fours, after my post named Olivia pulled away to a neutral corner. The ref reaches 8, and then I decide I must get back up, I do this, I tell myself....my corner shouting to get up, telling me I can still win. As I get onto wobbly legs, the ref checks me over, noting the bruise on my forehead....I tell him I can fight, so he makes sure I can raise my gloves....and then motions you out of your corner...."FIGHT!" 1:00
16:07 Olivia_Dyer: I watch as you slowly rise back up onto your feet. You have a nasty bruise on your head but I have more than a few of my own. Especially all over my body. He then motions to fight and I feel the adrenaline release from my body as I have to go back out into the open ring. I slowly walk toward you, gloves up at mid guard, not sure what to do as I get closer. I dont have the strength in me to throw a particularly good kick so I throw out a double right jab toward your face as I close the distance then a left cross to your body as I get progressively closer. None of these punches have much if any strength behind them. They are all just meant to mess with your guard so I can get close enough to clinch again and throw the exact same right elbow I did last time. Hoping you will be disoriented enough for me to land a big knockout strike without having to exhude all of my reamaining gas tank. R3 0:50
16:20 Valenzuela: I watch you, and weave a little as you approach, feeling unsteady on my feet. I too keep my gloves at shoulder height, a mistake, as you punch a double right jab through my guard, snapping into my face, making my head bob back and forth. True, not too much power in them, but it's painful enough, and also alarming to realise that my reflexes are now low. I drop my gloves to the left cross to my body, blocking the blow, and again you clinch, with my gloves low, I pull back my right to smack you in the ribs, a blow that has now power in it, but suddenly that big right elbow comes out again, with power, pound into my temple. The moment your elbow connects with my temple, it's like a bomb goes off in my head. The pain is instant, sharp, and blinding, like a hammer slamming into the side of my skull. My vision blurs, and everything feels like it's spinning, like the whole world just tilted sideways. There’s this high-pitched ringing in my ears, and for a second, I can’t think straight—it’s all just noise and pain. I try to stay on my feet, but my legs wobble beneath me. My head feels like it’s going to explode, and this deep, throbbing ache spreads out from where you hit me, pulsing with every heartbeat. I blink, trying to clear my vision, but everything’s foggy, distant. My arms feel heavy, almost disconnected from my body. My legs collapse under me, and I drop to the canvass R3 0:40
16:50 Olivia_Dyer: BAM! Another big elbow connects and again sends you right back down to the canvas. This time your down hard though. The ref pushes me back and looks down at you. Your face down on the canvas, almost the only motion coming from you is your back slowly moving up and down with your breathing. He waves you off and the bell rings out *DING DING DING* Euphoria floods my body as the ref waves you off and my body gets so overwhelmed I collapse downward. I am nearly crying in joy and relief as I lay on the canvas. My coach rushes in and picks me up giving me a big hug for winning such a hard fight. I then walk over to you to see if you are okay.
16:52 Valenzuela: The medic has rolled me over onto my back, and the smelling salts shoved under my nose.....brings me around....and then I see Olivia looking over the medics shoulder....and I give a small moan....
16:52 Valenzuela: END or

Title: "Elbow of Fate: Dyer Stuns Valenzuela in Epic Comeback!"
By the Staff Writers of Fighter’s Gazette

In a true display of resilience, young Olivia Dyer took down the seasoned veteran Carla Valenzuela in a dramatic third round. Both fighters showed exceptional grit, that left everyone on the edge of their seats. Valenzuela, the 30-year-old veteran with extensive boxing experience, opened the fight strong. Weighing in at 120 lbs and standing 5’3", she was at a size disadvantage but made up for it with sheer toughness. Olivia Dyer, 20, fresh and fiery, looked to exploit her Muay Thai background. From the start, Valenzuela established her punching advantage, pressing forward with hooks and jabs that rattled Dyer. A massive uppercut to Dyer’s gut sent her sprawling to the canvas, breathless and stunned. Despite the knockdown, Dyer was far from done, but the round clearly went to Valenzuela, who controlled the pace with her boxing prowess.

As round two began, Valenzuela looked to repeat her first-round dominance, but Dyer’s determination and adjustments began to shine. A teep kick to Valenzuela’s midsection slowed the veteran down, and Valenzuela began to struggle with Dyer’s brutal kicks, an unfamiliar challenge for the boxer turned Muay thai fighter. Dyer’s best moment was landing a perfectly executed question-mark kick that rattled Valenzuela’s skull, followed by a series of body punches that pushed her opponent into the ropes. Although Valenzuela fought back fiercely, throwing sharp counters and testing Dyer’s resolve with a vicious knee to her abdomen, it was Olivia’s resilience that stole the round.

With both fighters exhausted, the third round began with tension palpable in the arena. Valenzuela, visibly bruised, but still full of heart, circled cautiously, wary of Dyer’s elbows and kicks. Valenzuela tried to keep Dyer at bay with jabs and hooks, but her earlier success faltered against Dyer’s persistence. It was here that Valenzuela fell for the same trick twice. Dyer knocked down Valenzuela with a right elbow, badly disorienting the boxer. And after Valenzuela rose, Dyer released a second thunderous elbow strike that connected with Valenzuela’s temple. Valenzuela collapsed to the canvas, this time knocked out cold! Dyer’s victory was sealed at 0:50 in the third round by KO.

Valenzuela, a seasoned boxer, brought her power and precision to the ring, often landing heavier blows. But Dyer was able to overcome her initial jitters, adapting with well-placed kicks and elbows, showing exceptional heart. Valenzuela’s strategy in round 1 worked until she ran into Dyer’s Muay Thai toolkit. Failing to defend against kicks and elbows was devastating and she was simply less versatile than her younger opponent. Dyer's ability to absorb punishment and find a way to break through Valenzuela's guard secured her place as a rising star in the sport.
