I am reaching. But I fall. And the night is closing in. As I stare into the void. To the whirlpool of my sin.
Something has come over me. I’ll escape now from the world. I cannot explain it. From the world of the princess. I want to protect, I want to prolong, yet destruction seems to follow in my path. Bratty Princess is nothing now. To the whirlpool. The cesspool of sin. The more good I try to do, the more damage I seem to cause. Another story must begin.
I can’t keep this up. I don’t fully understand the powers that have been bestowed upon me. I took a leap of faith into the tear, and I emerged from the void, but did I become part of it? I don’t want it to consume me, yet it tears at the very fabric of my being, the strings of reality. Who am I?
Can I condemn someone to slavery, pretend I do not see their…agony? An innocent who trusts Nightwing and follows him to just one thing, who am i? Can I conceal myself, forevermore? Pretend I’m not the princess, I was, before? And must my name until I die be no more than an alibi? Must I lie? How can I ever face my friends again? How can I ever face my-self again? My soul is in the void, I know, I made that bargain long ago. It gave me strength when strength was gone. It gave me hope to journey on. Who am I? Who am I? I’m INCARNATE.
And so Nightwing you see it’s true. I've embraced my inner...guilt's with you. Who am I? Who am I?
