I am not sure that A.I. is on the level to be actually that helpful in fighting moves. I am a non-native speaker and I do use A.I. on other sites to try to have "cyber fights" when I cannot find matching opponents (see my story section for one of the results).
While A.I. became good, it still confuses things and have actions turn out different than they were meant. Similar, but different.
What I suggest to people that struggle to deliver good writing is to use such A.I. text generators to then READ the texts and LEARN what other words can be used, outside of a "cyber match" with another "player". As I started cyber-catfighting a long, long, long, looooooooong time ago, one of the first things I did was to find terms for the German "kratzen" / "to scratch" so that I would have different words for the same basic catfight move. Playing with A.I. lately made me learn a new word or two in general as well. It can help you improve through "learning by example".
But I would not have the A.I. write MY moves. Playing with an A.I.? Yes, I will, especially if it is good. Playing with a player that uses the A.I. to write/"enhance" the own moves? *shrugs* Might be not be to different to playing with the A.I. >> which means: why go through the middle-man if I can go straight to the source? I will not try to "cut out the middle man" just for the sake of doing so. But if it becomes the easier option and both ending up being the same, I would for sure.
I would rather have you post to me in your completely broken English than talk to a robot. If I notice any AI patterns in the way anyone speaks to me, I will totally be turned off from the RP entirely. If I want to RP with a bot, I'll head on some .ai site.
My only fear is that it would turn everyone who uses it into very similar writers. For example, I know that I have some constants in the way I write my posts, and it makes my stuff easy to identify, but you know its me. If the ai has similar constants, and every non english speaker uses it, then every match would feel very similar, with a lot of the same details and examples being used. Granted, I'm no expert in this stuff, so maybe I'm just making up an issue that doesn't exist but it comes to mind.
I think it can be a good idea
language difference is a pain sometime
but can kill creativity...
maybe make a warning for the partner when its used ? Like a lil symbol to know AI helped to write the post.
I agree with Luna! I know a lot of people would benefit from this, but it would be helpful for us to know when it's being used. That said, anyone can already go to another site and use an AI writing assistant to reword their post without their partners knowing. Hopefully, if it is made available as part of the UI, the benefits will outweigh the drawbacks... it's only a matter of time
You have identified some points well and I think it's great that you have ideas on how to improve it.
And having help with grammar is a great help to many people. Including myself.
What I don't want is for there to be help with wording. Each of my chat partners is different and I absolutely love that. My concern is that we will end up just throwing automatically generated text blocks at each other. A translation tool would be great.
I didn’t even think about that! That would be great for non-native English speakers. That would also be great so two people of varying first languages can talk in their mother tongue. It definitely would open up the possibility of playing with a partner who has a different first language.
If 10 people describe the same room, there will be 10 different descriptions. Long and short. If 10 people do it with the help of the same AI, the description will always be the same. Change my mind.
But if each of the 10 can do it in their own language, then something great could happen. That's why I think translation assistance would be great.
I agree with this 100%. It definitely would make scenes more immersive and enjoyable with the option to write out a response, use the ai to generate some fluff, and then edit it from there to get rid of some grammatical errors or some lines that just don't make sense. I like descriptive writing and roleplaying and the lack of detail in some responses just kills it for me. I think it would work leaps and bounds for people that are either a.) non-native English speakers or b.) Not naturally good at descriptive writing. Even if it's only a few sentences at a time, it's WAY better than just one line of text. The vagueness of just consistent one line responses really ruins my fun sometimes.
Listening to the latest podcast episodes by Foxy and Madisons got me thinking about a feature idea for ChatFighters. Since this idea might be a bit controversial, I decided to share it here in the forum to hear your thoughts.
Many of us on the site are not native English speakers. Add to that the fact that we often log into CF during late evening hours, when our energy is low and... let’s be honest, our blood might be focused elsewhere ;) These factors can sometimes lead to spelling or grammar disasters.
Sure, there are plenty of spellcheck tools and plugins out there, and some of us copy-paste from writing apps, but they aren’t always foolproof. Plus, non-native speakers often lack the vocabulary or variety in phrasing that native speakers naturally have. For instance, I might know 10 ways to describe a punch or a hold, but a native speaker could probably come up with 100 variations without breaking a sweat.
Here’s the idea:
An optional, built-in AI writing enhancer designed to handle adult content without restrictions.
Here’s how it would work:
While typing in the chat, you’d write your usual message—let’s say something messy like:
"I'am came at you grap yuo laag livt it ub and use mi laft fit to go fur a gat panch! veryyyyyyyyyy hart"
Clearly, spellcheck alone won’t save this. But AI-powered tools, like large language models, can:
The chat would generate a few options for you to pick and further edit before sending. Taking the example text above:
Corrected Grammar and Spelling:
"I came at you, grabbed your leg, lifted it up, and used my left foot to go for a gut punch—very hard!"
More Elaborate Version:
"I rushed toward you, caught hold of your leg, hoisted it into the air, and struck with my left foot, landing a crushing gut punch with all my strength!"
Immersive Roleplaying Version:
"Charging in with fierce determination, I grabbed your leg, lifted it high, and with a powerful strike from my left foot, I delivered a gut punch so hard, the impact reverberated through the arena!"
Creative Variation:
"Like a predator closing in on its prey, I went straight for your leg, lifting it with ease before hammering a devastating gut punch with my left foot—it’s a move you’ll never forget!"
Pro-Wrestling Style (WWE RAW):
"I stormed into the ring, snatched your leg, and lifted it high for the crowd to see. With the fans roaring, I drove my left foot into your gut with a thunderous impact—pure show-stopping force!"
You could pick the version you like, tweak it further, and send it out.
Now, my questions:
For those receiving such messages: Would this feature improve your experience, or would it feel less authentic?
For those writing messages: Would this tool help you enhance your writing, or would it take away from the spontaneity?
For everyone (especially native speakers): How do you feel about this idea, keeping in mind that many members don’t speak English natively or fluently?
Anything else?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this idea and whether it’s something you’d like to see on ChatFighters.
