While I certainly understand the idea, I wonder if time is well spent with this feature request.
You guys and girls can use the introduction text box, and with the formatting option of text, you can create something like:
The TechLikes to argue withThe Ref Or even more fancy if you use a table :
I'm happy to add more relationship types, but types like:
"submitted by" and "submitted," "pinned by" and "," "knocked out by" and "knocked out" A table is really the way to go there:
You can use the basic defeated by relationship and add more details to your intro.
Allowing a free text field would need to change the whole underlying relationship feature. (-> Lots of work)
As of now, I think other parts on ChatFighters have a higher priority and, more importantly, would create more benefits for all members instead of a free text field option for a small feature.
Although we, as writers, are focused on finding different roles and patterns, this kind of desire forces CF crew to change the whole technical background of the relationship system. Having a free mechanism in the regulation of relationships may serve to increase diversity, but this can also lead to different emergences where nonsensical types of relationships arise.
Thanks for your reply Ref. You are loved :) Keep up the good work.
What about adding options like "submitted by" and "submitted," "pinned by" and "pinned," "knocked out by" and "knocked out" so we can see more than just defeated by and defeated.
Would it be possible to add customized relationships, so that we can add relationships between our characters that are not listed among those that are already offered? One character would type out the label they want, and then the other would have to approve it.
Not sure how much work this would entail, just throwing it out there.
Well, Mino and I wanted "Lloyd Morgan is Ariel of minotaur21560", and "minotaur21560 is Prospero of Lloyd Morgan" (in reference to Shakespeare's "Tempest"), but a simpler example would be substituting gender neutral "child" and "sibling" with "father/mother" and "brother/sister", or stuff like "boss", "employee", "coworker" etc.

And not to forget, it would blow up the explore page even more: https://venus.chatfighters.com/characters/TobiasK/explore

I get where Ref is coming from actually.

2021-10-25 01:23I back this idea! Think it could be a great addition to the relationship system.

This is an interesting idea, Lloyd. Would you give a couple of examples of what you're thinking?

Well, that's the beauty of a custom relationship, it can be something temporary as well. :)
