Parking in the Chatroom

Short version: The bug is fixed
Long story: since the beginning, you got kicked out of the chat when you were 120min inactive.
Inactive = no typing and hitting enter (public or private)
A warning message comes "If you stay idle much longer you will be disconnected".

However, they were a small glitch in one of the last chat updates that made a member 'always active'.
This bug is fixed with the new chat update from today.

The 120min timer is active again and should work as intended.

---
But yeah, how does it work on WhatsApp/skype/discord? They also always online - as long as the device and program is running.
Displaying idle timer was an idea way back at the beginning of ChatFighters, but it can be to easily used to stalk someone.

I'm interested in something like this. I know we have status, but many don't use them (including myself often I forget to change) - would be sweet if we could see idle time or something like that.

Would anyone else like an inactive tag or boot from the room after a period of inactivity? Lately lots of fighters are parking in the room and then chatting elsewhere (Discord or Trillian) which makes contacting them frustrating. Shouldn’t you be booted from the room if you aren’t active for a long period of time?

Depends on how it would be handled. How will a program make the difference between an inactive user and a guy waiting for a reply from his opponent, or waiting to receive a message or for a specific user. It would be quite hard to implement without kicking active users too.
