Should a participant know who the other person is? I'd argue that if it's a dealbreaker for you, then that's your prerogative, however keep in mind that due to the very nature of this place and the fact that we engage in something that would be considered taboo pretty much anywhere else, any private information that people would share would make them prime targets for doxxing. It'd require an immense amount of trust to share that kind of information with anyone, and ultimately you're just some stranger on the internet, people have no way of knowing what your true intents could be. Sure, you're probably being genuine about simply wanting to know who you're interacting with and have no ulterior motives, but 'probably' doesn't cut it when that kind of personal info can be used to ruin people's lives.
TL;DR: you're entitled to wanting to know who people are, but people are also entitled to not give you anything and quite frankly they'd be incredibly stupid to share IRL info with a stranger.

Taking a guess, 4/10 girls on this kink site are real women, but it doesn't matter. It only matters to you, so I think I'll throw in my thoughts based on my experiences from other places outside of Venus.
Let's take note that:
Goonette girls are rare to come by, it's more general guy being a gooner.
From reading some other male profiles, some maybe find significantly lower roleplays than the average female on Venus.
You have your own ways of telling whether or not you're talking to a woman with your... Methods.
Many of us are aware it's hard for guys to find m/f erotic scenes to throw in. Long term may be a bit of a stretch, because again this is where the second note is important. The average male might probably have at least 3 a month? The girls have many opportunities everyday.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but kinks like these have a majority audience towards males, which is why it makes it difficult to find a woman for a one off alone! And considering the first note, it's because females are generally made the symbol of appeal itself.
And why the third notes important? If you are able to read whether or not the person you're roleplaying with is a woman or not, then screening isn't all that important, with the sole exception of the laws final say, now that we have laws on some places to require ID for verification.
Many people including adults seemed to be upset when the age verification news came out because some parents didn't do a good job with looking after their children or many other reasons among them, but it seems like it applies to working in your favor! Hey, if you're concerned about someone being unverified, then the verification process has made one step easier for you to distinguish if they're a woman or not, even if you had your ways of telling from the beginning!
So let's summarize; it's gonna be hard finding a one off anyway, why bother making it more difficult with verification? Unless they want to do it, that's their call. You have ways to tell if someone's a woman anyway like mentioned before, so rely on that. I recommend you just do it for fun and if you and the other partner don't click, politely tell them away, and if you sense it can get worse, block! Let's probably end it here too as soon as possible, right? Maybe we end this discussion here, or continue in closed doors and with mutual respect, just like you wanted.

Hi Gabriella. Thanks for your comment. The beauty of western countries is that we have freedom of speech. Your opinion and mine should never be restricted from being shared on these forums. Your three rules are interesting and I will consider them. The only two aspects of your letter that I find strange is your insistence of ID verification and One offs. Both of which I never mentioned in my original thread. If you are ever in the mood to be put in your place in the ring, don't hesitate to chat with me next time.
I'm curious just what outcome you think ID verification would achieve for you and the specific nature of what you are suggesting?
Do you really need a check to confirm that you aren't actually talking to Dracula's daughter?
To avoid the basement dweller are you proposing that everyone's personal information should be available and by extension so should yours? I'm sure I speak for CF collectively when I say I'm flattered that you trust everyone here with your info. You must really believe that everyone here is a stable, safe and reasonable person? I don't share your optimism.
Otherwise all it would achieve is a sense of greater confidence that the person you are talking to is over 18. Now I'll admit at times I have found it difficult to work out whether someone I was talking was in high school or if they simply hadn't touched grass since they were in high school, which is the energy I'm getting from this thread!
When dealing with that level of social ineptitude my social is the three or so clicks it takes to block.
You said that you're suggesting this to help develop long term friendships but it as far as I can see, it wouldn't do that. So you're sadly going to have to pursue friendship the everyone else does in every other social setting. Mutual respect, building trust and a bit of charisma wouldn't hurt. Or at the very least, by being pleasant.
Hey Leon, how are you. Thank you for introducing yourself properly before diving immediately into criticism. Lol. No worries. I'm used to dealing with all types of... guys. I can address each of your points. No, I didn't mention ID verification in my original post. You sound intelligent so I know you could not have misread what I wrote. Therefore, your objective seems to deceive the other members by creating a false narrative. Not sure the reasoning for this false narrative but I can only take this as a compliment! Perhaps I stole your girlfriend or captured the interest of someone who dissed you. I don't know. This forum entry was opened to fuel conversation and possible debate, not create division. I provided an opinion. Not an exhortation. If you prefer to create an endless number of characters, races & genders - That is your prerogative. I'm just asking for honesty if I'm to commit myself to long term roleplay that can lead to erotic circumstances. I'm straight so I want to play with a RL woman. I have gay friends who respect me and I respect them. I've been told that I am handsome, tall and sexy so that's why I don't mind using an enhanced photo of myself in my profile. And I don't have an 8 inch dick like your profile.
If you’re actually going to require a background check here, then go ahead and push for it. But if that were to happen, it would backfire on some people. Even users who’ve been members here for years would pull the plug. People are here to role-play (whether it’s combat or other types of action) using one or more fictional characters. That’s the whole point of Chatfighters.
And if the person behind the screen were 100 years old instead of 23, and even if it were Dracula himself... who cares...
Isn’t there already enough surveillance on this planet, and isn’t data protection already frequently undermined? ... The topic of surveillance first entered people’s minds with George Orwell’s novel “1984,” and look where we are today. And the last bastion of imagination and relaxation—that is, here at Chatfighters, where you can still freely pursue your own enjoyment—is supposed to be ruined by dubious background checks as well?
And have you ever heard of IP addresses? But even here, there’s still data protection. To make a long story short: Just block the users you don’t like and that’s that—but don’t make such a big deal out of it that it ends up backfiring on everyone.
Just wanted to remark that the topic of surveillance did not first enter people's minds with Orwel's 1984, it goes back at the very least to Jeremy Bentham's Panopticon. :)
Hey everyone. I would like your opinions on the subject of 'screening'. Who's really BEHIND the screen is usually entertaining. Sometimes creepy. Often times - Anonymous. Obviously, the majority of us visit chat room as a form of escapism from reality or an extention of our secret desires. There are exceptions, where some enter chats with bad intentions. We can save that for a later discussion. Here's my question. Should a participant, intimately involved within a private chat - Know who the other person is? One of my friends who I met on SL, made an interesting point. It's not necessary to know who the person is behind the screen unless you plan to hook up in RL. There's room for debate on that. Here's a metaphor. You order a salad from a restaurant. The ingredients are all fresh and plenty. However, the salad maker decides to drown the salad with the dressing. Or, he/she adds too little. Either way, your taste buds are flooded without being able to savor the real flavors. Some people enjoy the mystery. Others want to learn a bit more. When first engaging with a novel person, excitement and intrigue may take over rational. You may be thinking, "OMG..This is so cool, I'm meeting Dracula's daughter! Gonna have my neck bitten twice." But, that 'Dracula's daughter' is actually a 50 year old creep still living in his mother's basement. The person behind the screen may not matter to you - But it does matter to me. I don't care how literally competent a person is. Eventually true colors will peek thru, like when I apply a coat of spray to onto a flat tire in order to discover where the air is leaking from. If the encounter is a one-off then I suppose knowing the sex(gender), age, ethnicity of the other is not important. Long-term roleplay develops committment to some degree because you are trusting the other person's ability to entertain you. There are exceptions, like when I see a profile of some freak who is half horse and wants to participate in bovine love. Lol. That's your business. But if you present yourself as a 'woman' yet you: Hardly speak, easy to anger, can't differentiate between cup sizes and coffee cups - Then I'll take my chances and won't reply. I'm not implying we should be entitled to a background check. No. I know I'll get ambushed by the woke mob any minute...And don't attempt to strengthen your arguement by replying with all ten of your alts like sperm to an egg. But..What's everyone's thoughts?
You are certainly free to only interact with people who will only verify themselves to you. I suspect that you'll get just about zero takers, but hey, since it matters to you, you should enjoy your freedom to be alone.
Listen you woke scrub. You want to play the role of a donkey and have sex with others, that's your preference. I don't ask for verification from anyone. I spend my quality time very socially.
