Introduction

I was born the son of Zeus and a mortal woman, another one of the king's many affairs. Hera hated me for what Zeus did and has sought to kill me ever since. First I killed two snakes that Hera sent to kill me as a baby and my strength became legend as I got older and I got married to Megara. We had children but then there was a sudden blur and when I awoke, my hands were stained with the blood of my family. Hera had induced me into a temporary insanity and it led me to commit the greatest atrocity a man could commit. In a search to atone, I went to the oracle who proclaimed that I must serve King Eurystheus. The petty king gave me ten tasks later extended to twelve and those twelve tasks made me the greatest known hero in all the world.
