Introduction
My name is Paula Figueiredo. I’m a Portuguese woman, 37 years old, 168 cm tall and about 64 kg. I’m not a professional athlete or anything extraordinary — just a regular woman who tries to take care of herself, stay strong, and keep moving forward for the people I love.
I grew up in Portugal surrounded by family, good food, and the idea that resilience matters more than perfection. These days my life is mostly about balance: work, motherhood, and trying to keep a bit of time for myself. Training, especially boxing workouts, became a way for me to clear my head. It’s not about fighting others — it’s about discipline, focus, and reminding myself that I’m capable of more than I sometimes think.
I’m also a mother of two amazing children who are truly the center of my world.
My oldest is Miguel, who is nine years old. Miguel is thoughtful and curious. He’s the kind of child who asks questions about everything — how machines work, why the sky changes color at sunset, or how athletes train. He loves football and building things with his hands, and sometimes he watches me train with this serious expression like he’s studying every move. Despite being young, he has a calm and protective personality, especially with his little sister.
My youngest is Inês, who is six. Inês is pure energy and imagination. She loves drawing, dancing around the living room, and telling long stories about imaginary adventures. Where Miguel is calm and analytical, Inês is expressive and affectionate. She’s the one who runs to hug me when I come home tired, reminding me that the little moments matter most.
Their father, João, has always been an important presence in their lives. João is a patient and grounded man — the kind of father who teaches by example rather than by raising his voice. He works hard, but he always finds time to help Miguel practice football in the park or to sit with Inês while she shows him her newest drawings. Even though life can be busy and sometimes challenging, we both try to make sure the children grow up surrounded by stability, respect, and care.
As for me, I try to stay modest about what I do. I’m not trying to prove anything to anyone. Training in the garage, sweating after a session, sitting down to catch my breath — those moments remind me that strength isn’t loud. Sometimes it’s simply showing up, doing the work, and then going back inside to be a mother, a partner, and a person who is still learning every day.
If there is something that defines me, it’s not being a “warrior” in the dramatic sense. It’s just perseverance. Taking care of my body, raising my children with love, supporting the people around me, and facing life one day at a time.
