About The Underground Open

A thin mist of century-old dust hangs over the rough, makeshift ring, glittering orange in the glare of probably two dozen large, bare-filament incandescent globes hanging on their wires from cobwebbed rafters. Even buried nearly 30 feet beneath the Anne G. Jacobs Memorial Gymnasium, it’s a sweltering ninety degrees in the ring, the basement warmed up by the burning orange-yellow lights and the heat of a hundred or so bodies crowding around, wedged in like sardines. Voices echo off the mostly bare concrete walls filling the room with a churning, rumbling din.

I take a deep breath, my ripped, unbuttoned daisy dukes stretching taut around my butt as I grip the coarse-wound jute rope and clamber up into the ring, the leather soles of my rawhide boots rustling against the dirt-stained canvas, leaving dusty footprints in their wake. Some of the voices in the front row hush, eager eyes tracking my every move as I swing a glistening thigh up over the middle rope. I slip into our little squared circle, emerald eyes sparkling with the reflections of a hundred incandescent lamps as they sweep across the small, but very exclusive crowd.

I softly tug down on the hem of my blue flannel top, tied in a knot directly beneath my softly heaving bosom, as I take in the small sea of tattered tied-off tees, ripped jeans, yoga shorts frayed thin, and sports bras so ragged they could pass as shop rags. It’s all something of a veneer, of course. Half of the cold-blooded bitches here could probably buy the building without a second thought. A good eighth could buy the block. Although, not everyone here bleeds blue. Some just happened to know the right person. Others could be called ‘ringers,’ paid to fight in honor of a full club member (which was about the only way these ‘benefactresses’ could remain members without at least the occasional dance on the canvas).

Butterflies flutter in my belly as I carefully, slowly, take a deep breath, trying to look confident as I raise the mic to my lips. “Well, here we all are,” I purr, a hush passing over the sweltering basement, my soft, husky, heavily amplified whisper echoing around the bare concrete walls as my lovely assistant dims the lights. “This little club of ours has come a long way… and it all comes down to tonight. The night of the big dance. I hope you’re ready.”

Whispers flit through the moist air, little sparks in the night. “Four fights each. Five points for a win. Three for a loss. And... a big, juicy zero for anyone who doesn’t show. Fighters pick the rules. If you don’t both agree, then standard club rules apply, and anything goes. And I do mean… anything.” A mischievous grin tugs at my glistening lips as I let the mic lean to the side, left hand on my slowly swaying hips as an excited buzz rises up, electrifying the moist, hazy-orange air. “So… what do you say, lovelies? You in?”

Tournament rules

SCHEDULE

Heat 1 is ON! It will run through Thursday, July 2, 2021.

  • Please contact your listed opponent to plan and schedule your first match.
  • Everyone is encouraged to discuss her interests with her partner and select a match type you would both love. As long as you and your partner enjoy it, it's all good as far as the tournament is concerned!
  • Please read the rules below. If you have any questions, please raise them with MMA Jane.
  • Remember, this is all for fun! So, please, have LOTS of FUN!

SIGN-UPS

  • Sign-ups for Heat 1 are now CLOSED. If you would like to sign up for Heat 2, please send a PM to MMA Jane
  • No experience is required, but you must at least be familiar with and able to follow the FDF Basic House Rules
    • It is strongly recommended that you do at least one dice fight using the FDF Basic House Rules before your first tournament match
    • It would be ideal if you do a match using the full FDF House Rules before the tournament

HEATS

  • The tournament will be held in four Heats, each running for two weeks
    • Participants will be assigned one match per Heat
      • The winning fighter receives five points
      • The losing fighter gets three points
      • You will receive points upon publishing your match story to the FDF
  • The two fighters with the most points at the end of the four Heats will fight a final match to decide the tournament winner
    • In the event of a tie for second, there will be a match to determine the challenger

RULES

  • All matches must be dice fights
  • The default dice fighting rules are the full FDF House Rules, including the FDF Character Classes
  • The rules may be revised from time to time. The links on the FDF main page will always point to the latest rules

YOU MAY:

  • Mutually agree with your opponent to fight in any style and with any restrictions you would both enjoy. You can have an NHB fight, a boxing match, a catfight, a pro match, a pure sexfight, whatever you would please. However, if either fighter disagrees with a variance, then the default rules control
  • Reduce any of your stats from the default FDF values, or take on any special weaknesses that sound fun (check out the list of quirks in the FDF Character Classes for ideas). Such changes do not require your opponent’s consent
  • Change your stats or character class(es) between matches
  • Skip any Heat (but you will receive no points for the Heat)
  • Delay writing or publishing your match to past the end of the Heat to accommodate real life schedules (However, you must have all of your matches posted by the end of the tournament)
  • Volunteer for one extra match per Heat to fill in for no-shows or odd-number matchups, should the need arise
    • You will receive two extra points for a win; or one extra point for a loss

YOU MAY NOT:

  • Ruin any other player’s experience in any way, including by crossing her red lines, harassing her, unwanted trash-talk, unwanted rudeness, etc.
    • Violators will be warned exactly once
    • Particularly egregious violators will be summarily defenestrated from the tournament and the FDF
    • This rule will be interpreted as broadly as necessary
  • Break the rules as agreed between you and your opponent
    • If you have a rules-related question mid-match, try to agree on how the rules should be read, and let the result ride
    • If necessary, you can get a second opinion on what a rule means from me (or any other FDF member who happens to be online)
  • Badger your opponents for a match time, or a rules change they are not keen on, or anything else
    • Real life happens
    • If in doubt, use the default rules
    • Please PM me for a substitute match if for any reason things are not working out

!!! NOTE: the bracket below looks like an elimination bracket, but there will be no eliminations. Matchups will be shuffled before each Heat. !!!

I won my fight against Keira, I want to thank her for her kindness, she guided me throughout the fight because I don't know the rules well

The tournament has officially begun! Please check out the update at the top of the Tournament Rules post.

Since it seems like nearly everyone assumed the bracket reflected their Heat One pairing, we're going to go with it. Please contact your partner for Heat One, and see what type of match interests the both of you. I hope all of you have a delightful time, and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!

Oh, and KICK ASS!
