2021-04-24 05:24I guess the best ideas of a story come from "what if" questions. I know the basis for BEDLAM came from the strange question "What if the Bedlam Demon was in an item that travels from story to story?" Notice, I never ever saw Chadwick tramping through, and wow if I micromanaged the story, he wouldn't have. We ended up with the Agent drama, the nearly ignored Anthro world, Ancient rivalries, and the horrible villain Gregory Payne DYING.
One thing leads to another in the better opening questions. I ran into a group on You Tube that does dome deep analyses on movies - specifically blockbusters. Wildly successful films and tragic stinkers - they go through and zero in why its a success or why its a bomb. Filmento

They show some basic things like the contract you set up with your reader/viewer and how to make that pay off. Of course we have a complex beginning - I also have a contract with my player(s) and want them to enjoy or get off or both. AND have readers after get it, love it, read it.
The whole channel is amazing - helped me fine tune some things like answering the question on a character level "What does Atlas Want?" That might not be a simple thing to answer and after looking at it, I decided it BETTER be simple or no one will like it.
Good resource, funny, and actually saved me the time of watching some really bad movies to see why they ended up box office disasters.
