I'm losing more blood, and my face definitely can't be intact, but I'm too numb to the pain. When I feel your tongue take in my blood, I know I'm close to the end.

THE TRAVELER
I jolt awake, feeling cold sweat. I instinctively go to feel my entire body, to see if any of that was actually real. Then I look around, see I'm next to Max in bed. His body was turned when I was shocked awake, but I hear him groaning as I see him turn around in bed again, saying muffled "Jaaax ... Get back to bed...." He seems half asleep, which I'd rather have right now. I look around the room a bit more to process the nightmare I just dreamt. After, I slowly lie back down, face Max, wrap my arms around him gently as to not wake him, but hold him a little extra tight. My heart pounds as I fade back into sleep.
