Site News #2
Hello!
As promised in the last Site News #1, the time of adding new features started!
A few smaller changes went live already; a better Search and filter for Characters and Stories as well as chat and Story improvements. It is great to see so many of you posting new stories every day!
New !dice commands are added to the chat:
You can specify the number and sides, e.g. !dice 3d10
Also, check the help page for more commands; in the chat click the yellow menu button then select 'Help'.
I noticed that in a few profiles, the description was used to link to another character and describe the relation to him.
I'm happy to introduce a new major feature: Relationships
There are a bunch of different relationships already available. Click here for more information and how to use them. Relationships can add a lot of flavor to your character, so use them if you wish (or ignore them if you want.)
Next up: The Arena preview link, group functions, win/loss statistics, Character sheet redesign, and much more.
Thanks for using Chatfighters, and please keep posting your Stories, Books,Characters and bugs.
If you have ideas for features, please post them below this News post. Or start a new forum topic. The order and priority in which I implement features are closely tight to the interest they create.
Best Regards,

2019-11-15 03:26These are just ideas that I don’t know if it can be done or not.
1. When PMing someone and they, or you, disconnect there should be a grace period of one or two minutes. To me and most likely to a lot of people it’s annoying to write up your reply but then the other person disconnects making you not be able to reply. Of course, the tab should change colors or something to warn the person that the grace period has been active.
2. Keeping tabs open when you leave the chatroom when you disconnect or close the chat page. To me it’s a little bit annoying to hunt down people and reopen the PM chat with them. Also, I don’t see a way to do this but if you close the lobby tab there’s no way to get it to open again, unless you refresh the page.
3. In the chat allow favorite people to show on top of the list of the chat list to see when they get on easier.
4. This is a something I thought would help newcomers is add a description page, or next to the term when you create a character a very short sentence of what that term means. People may not know what a term means because they’re new to cybering or have an idea of what it means but can’t find it on google to make sure it’s what they think it means.
So again I don’t know what can be done, but those are just some of my suggestions that could be useful to everyone. Also, I don’t think people know that there a site news page or that y’all have updated stuff. I think sending a mail or showing a link in the chat for a day when the website is updated would allow people the know about it.

Thanks for adding the numbers!
1&2) An interesting idea, but the idea of chatfighters is that fights happen in a room. (even if it is just two persons, create a private room when the action starts) Then it does not matter if your partner disappears for a few minutes. And rooms also automatically reopen again if you reconnect. Try your next match in a (private) room and let me know how it works!
3) Sorting of the members in the chat is on my list.
4) I agree, and it will come.
They is a welcome message every time you connect to the chat, the message links to this news. But I know not all people read welcome messages...
If I add something significant, I will send a notification to all, but I don't think every news update is worth it.?!
Thanks for your feedback!

Thank you for your reply I didn't know that the idea was to make a room when having a match. I thought the rooms were for special "events" or something that everyone can go to not for personal matches. I'll try that and if I have any problems I'll let you know.
Yea I can see your point about notification to everyone every time there's an update it would be annoying to do that. It was just an idea, since for some reason I never seen the welcome messages that had a link to the site news page even when you updated it yesterday, just the coin or dice message. It could have easily be there but I just didn't see it.
Anyways I just want to say you guys are doing a great job so far and I can't wait to see what's in store for the future! Thank you again for letting me know what you thought of my ideas.
