Site news #8: Polls!

Hello,

To prioritize the next site updates, like last year we start another survey to get some feedback about the three topics:

1) Default dice success rate

A suggestion from an active dice player (let me know if you want to be mentioned by name :) was:
To bump up the general 50/50 chance for successful dice throws to 40/60 - this would result in a 20% higher success chance for: !punch, !attack, !kick, and all other currently 50/50 throws (offense and defense). The goal is to make dice matches more fluid by having more action.
Should the standard chance for success be changed?

2) Donations

Would you consider donating to ChatFighters if we offer more payment options?

3) Future updates community priority

Which feature should be added next?

Something else? - Drop your suggestions below, and I will try to add them on the fly.
Do not suggest an app version of ChatFighters. This is already on our internal roadmap, together with security and internal bug fixing tasks.

Best Regards,
ChatFighters

Some other suggestions:
-Block chat access for people who do not create a char/profile
-Change the story sorting (for example on the "your turn" landingpage view) to use the date of "publishing" rather then the date of creation (now when someone takes 5 days to approve a story, it does not show up in recent stories anymore, because its 5 days old)
-Add a spam filter to the chat, that auto-mutes people that abuse the fire/explosion triggers in the lobby.

+1 for Change the story sorting (for example on the "your turn" landingpage view) to use the date of "publishing" rather then the date of creation (now when someone takes 5 days to approve a story, it does not show up in recent stories anymore, because its 5 days old)

THIS! Changing the story posting so that stories "post" by the day they're put up rather than when they're created has long been a want i think from most of the community. With timezone differences between partners sometimes it takes a few days potentially to get your story posted and then it's buried and the only folks who see it it are the folks who have fav-ed you. This would be such a big improvement!

The other thing I'd like to see would be the ability to "favorite" stories so you can keep them in a private Book for your own reading pleasure without having to scroll through your fav fighters list to try and find that 1 story that really ummmmm "speaks" to you! :) Thanks for asking for our input!!

Oh gosh, I hate having to agree with Foxy but I like the "Favorites" Book idea.

(Foxy, love ya, mean it)

Total yes to the story sorting! Especially when you're writing with people in other timezones, your story can fall all the way down the list.

Oh, and one more thing.

Please consider adding a chat-status-icon (genre donation-icon, next to username), to indicate if a person is using the chat on mobile.

Take care for a better chat editor, there is no "line break" possible acutally.
The sentence get longer and longer ....

A big suggestion I have is this...

Currently, when people look at the Characters list, it sorts everyone by showing the newest characters first. For people like me with an old but active character, I feel like I shouldn't be on one of the last pages listed. If someone searches for characters who are 300+ pounds, they will not find my character unless they sift all the way through the history of 300+ pound characters created since the site went public.

I feel like it would be better for the characters screen to list characters in order by most recent activity instead of by newest account, so active characters will be the first ones seen when people are searching for something.
