Styles clash and realities collide in an underground fight club for humans and supernatural beings.
The spires of an abandoned cathedral pierce the city sky, it's gothic architecture seemingly at odds with the surrounding towers of glass and steel. Within it's stone walls, Paradise Lost, a nightclub with a mysterious patron adds it's unique rhythms to the pulse of the City of Angels. The main hall of the cathedral houses Purgatory, a confluence musical styles and a melting pot of club goers from all different walks of life. In the heavens of the rafters, Elysium, a VIP club for the high rollers and power brokers, where all the patrons are required to wear white. In the bowels of the foundation lies The Pit, where leather clad punks and metal heads gather to mosh to the sounds of deathcore, thrash metal, crust punk, and more. However, beneath that facade, another world exists in the form of an underground fighting club. Closed off to the public, within the base of the South Tower resides Communion, a bar set aside for those who test themselves against the other wayward souls seeking to find out just what they are made of. Within Elysium, a clash of all manner of fighting styles erupts as boxers, wrestlers, mixed martial artists, street brawlers, and practitioners of traditional martial arts test their bodies, minds, and spirits against one another. Meanwhile, in Purgatory, beings of supernatural ability wage war. Superheroes, lycanthropes, orcs, vampires, magicians, and elves are all said to struggle within the great hall for dominance. In The Pit within the catacombs beneath the cathedral, in a chamber ringed with ancient glyphs to contain the power unleashed inside, angels, demons, dragons, archmages, and omega level mutants battle for supremacy.
Thank you for your interest! Please read through the information and guidelines below, and then if you still have interest in Paradise Lost, feel free to apply for membership! Or, if you have any questions, please contact me.
Underage characters are not permitted within this federation.
The primary governing rule of Paradise Lost is this: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. In simpler language, treat others how you would like to be treated. No, this doesn't mean that if your character is a masochist and gets off on being treated like dirt that you should run around and treat others like dirt. It means treat other people and other people's characters with respect (unless they've given you permission Out of Character to do otherwise).
As you could probably tell from the synopsis on the Fed page, Paradise Lost is set in a world with some fairly dark undertones. It's focus is more geared towards fighting, character development, relationships, and each character's personal journey that they embark upon within the world the characters share. This isn't to say there isn't room for levity or lewdness, but those aren't the primary flavors of this fed.
That said, you don't need to be a multiple time Story of the Week winner that's produced multiple 25k+ word novellas in order to join. However, I do ask that you be able to reply with at least a semi-descriptive 3-5 sentence response that conveys what your character is doing within the realm of a fight rp. Due to the nature of Paradise Lost, it's membership is open to characters with a vast array of fighting styles. As an example, a person who's a boxer may have zero idea what you're trying to do when you say "I pick you up for an Electric Chair Driver...". You should be able to adequately describe that sequence for them so that they can formulate an appropriate response.
In closing, I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that I am a human being, and fallible as a result. If you have issues, feel free to bring them to my attention, whether it's a setting suggestion, issue regarding fed structure, you're unsure of what direction to take your character next, you feel overlooked, or you're just having trouble finding a fight. I cannot promise that I will be able to find a satisfactory resolution every time, but I will endeavor to listen with a fair and open mind and see if a solution or compromise can be reached.
